On the article Medfield Voted A Top Place to Live, Do You Agree?

ReplyAbsolutely! It is interesting to note that once again, a major media outlet focuses on Medfield's historic look when presenting the town to the outside world. The Globe story this week with a photo of the historic First Parish Church and when Ch. 5's Chronicle focused on Medfield's historic homes along Main Street and our Downtown area. The school system, named as one of the top systems in the country, is the draw. Preservation of our historic character continues to give Medfield its charm that is clearly the focus of the media stories and which helps to maintain strong property values and home sales. Our citizens' involvement and the quality of life here that makes Medfield, Medfield; there is no better place!

ReplyNancy,
The individual departments request an amount of money. Over the past several months their request were reviewed by the Warrant Committee and the Selectman, who questioned all their requests. At town meeting the Warrant Committee will make a recommendation for an amount of money, for example for the Park and Recreation Commission. That amount may be different than the original P&RC request, in which cast the P&RC may urge people to vote for a higher amount and will state their case on the floor of town meeting. It is up to you and I, and those who attend town meeting to decide what amount of money each department and request receives. Town citizens can also make motions on the floor of town meeting to add or subtract amounts of money and that would have to get voted upon. -

ReplyI am not surprised. Over the years Roche Bros has stood out as a community based business, helping the Medfield schools, student organizations and town organizations.
They have been very supportive to our local Medfield needs and should be congratulated for all their support! -
