Letter: Michelle Luhrmann Says Town Needs a Selectman Like Nick Athanasiadis

Medfield resident Michelle Luhrmann writes in to support Nick Athanasiadis for Selectman in Monday's town election.

Dear Editor, I am writing on behalf of Nick Athanasiadis. Having been a Medfield resident for over 15 years now, I have watched how this town has changed. One of  the things that drew us to the town, was the sense of community. Medfield has been a source of support and friendship to our family amidst good times and times of tragedy. But of key value to our family has been the overwhelming sense of people working together to accomplish great things. Medfield Day, Angel Run, Medfield Angels, town hall, library and school renovations, and the value of volunteering for the greater good. Our family has known Nick  for a number of years. I have always appreciated Nick's sense of kindness, fairness, good judgment, character and ability to look at…

Letter: Russ Hallisey Says Medfield 'Needs Nick' Athanasiadis for Selectman

Medfield resident Russ Hallisey writes in to ask voters to choose to Nick Athanasiadis for selectman at Monday's town election.

Dear Editor, WE NEED NICK. The fact is, that while serving as Selectman, Pete Peterson was also chairman of Medfield Day for a few years, something he refers to on his blog and campaign materials as among his major achievements and contributions to the Medfield community. The fact is, when he left MEMO, he started consistently voting against issuing an event permit to MEMO for Medfield Day under his complaint that Medfield Day was an inordinate expense and burden to the Town. The fact is, that he didn’t have a problem with Medfield Day when he was chairing it. Aside from the fact that MEMO provides much to the Town by way of its annual events … holiday lights at Baxter Park and around Town, the holiday Girl Scout parade, street flags and …

As Pete posted his full comment on his blog, I also attempted to post my reply on his blog. As of yet it seems not to have been posted, "awaiting moderation". I guess he's selectively "transparent". Russ Hallisey   more ›

Letter: Richard Scullary Calls Pete Peterson 'Ideal Candidate' for Selectman

Medfield resident Richard Scullary writes in to ask voters to choose Osler "Pete" Peterson for Selectman at the Town Election on Monday, March 26.

Dear Editor: Medfield needs a Selectman who is involved in and knowledgeable about the town and its issues, and Medfield deserves a Selectman who is genuinely committed to the town's best interests. Pete Peterson is that person.   Medfield Voting and Town Attendance records, located at the Town Clerk's office, show that Pete has attended every Town Meeting and has regularly voted in state, federal, and town elections since at least 1998, the date the electronic records started recording attendance and voting in Medfield. Pete's voting record, combined with his extraordinary record of public service (detailed at http://Medfield02052.wordpress.com), make Pete an ideal candidate for Selectman. Pete has been actively and continuously involved …

I agree with Frank. Why would we elect someone who never bothered to take the time to vote or attend a town meeting? The selectman's job is very time consuming. A background of apathy is truly not one that should deserve the right of the selectman's seat. Pete has been bringing change to the selectman's board. Thankfully bringing new ideas and opening up communication. You are living in denial if…   more ›

Letter: Errin Chapin Says 'Town Needs' Peterson as Selectman

Medfield resident Errin Chapin writes in to support selectman Osler "Pete" Peterson for reelection Monday, March 26.

To the Editor: On this coming Monday, March 26th, the voters of Medfield have the opportunity to retain Pete Peterson as one of our prized selectmen. The Chapin family  will be casting our three votes for him. Pete has been an asset to the board for the past 12 years. Prior to that, he was engaged in many aspects of our town. In fact, since he moved to Medfield, he has been an active member of our community. Consistency is key. The experience that he has attained throughout his service as selectman is undeniable. His devotion to his job is obvious. His effect has been to continue to make Medfield a great town to live in. He pushes the limits, asks tough questions, brings in new ideas and is always there to answer questions. Truthfully. He …

Letter: Susan Norton Endorses Nick Athanasiadis for Selectman

Medfield resident Susan Norton writes in to voice her support of Nick Athanasiadis for selectman in the March 26 Town Election.

Dear Editor, I am writing to endorse the candidacy of Nick Athanasiadis for Medfield Town Selectman. My husband and I have lived in five states but the friends we have made in Medfield are truly the best. Among those friends is Nick Athanasiadis. Our initial contact began because both of us have sons with special needs. The bond Nick has with his son is incredible. As our friendship grew, I got to see how intelligent and insightful a person he is. "Hard-working" is Nick's middle name! Not only does he have a job as a software engineer, but he also is part owner of The Math Connection, a local Medfield business. Nick has tutored my two teenagers as well as many of your own children. The accolades he has received from parents and students …

Letter: Joellyn Ripp Supports Nick Athanasiadis for Selectman

Medfield resident Joellyn Ripp writes in to voice her support for Nick Athanasiadis for selectman at the March 26th Town Election.

Dear editor, I am writing in support of Nick Athanasiadis for Selectman for the Town of Medfield. I have known Nick for over 15 years, as a neighbor and as a friend. We moved into Medfield at the same time and raised our families alongside each other. Nick is an incredible family man; passionate about always improving his childrens' lives. He was supportive of our neighborhood and our homeowners association of 23 houses. He had great improvement ideas and was ready at any time to jump in with his support to implement our ideas. He is a hardworker and put his vast  intellectual knowledge to use by opening a tutoring school, right here in Medfield, to help our town's children with their educational endeavors. I have no doubt that he will be …

Letter: Medfield Residents Endorse Selectman Peterson for Reelection

Medfield residents Linda Hooke and Susan Weisenfeld write in to support Osler "Pete" Peterson for reelection.

With the selectman election quickly approaching, we would like to express our support for Osler “Pete” Peterson for reelection. Among the many attributes that have made him such an extraordinary selectman for the past 12 years are his vast know-how of financial and legal affairs, his ability to ask the right questions and make informed decisions, and the measures he has implemented in keeping citizens informed. Just as important are his strength of character and his enthusiasm towards local community involvement which we witnessed first-hand. A few years ago, while co-chairing a town-wide school fundraiser, we had a relationship with an unscrupulous company that without Pete’s help would have resulted in the loss of approximately $7,000 to…

Letter: Bill Massaro Endorses Pete Peterson for Selectman

Medfield resident Bill Massaro writes in to voice support of Osler "Pete" Peterson and encourage the community to reelect the 12-year veteran.

To the Editor: I am writing this letter in support of Osler “Pete” Peterson’s reelection to the Medfield Board of Selectmen. As a 35-year resident, I am concerned about the direction the town will take at this most critical time when proven leadership and commitment to the betterment of Medfield and its current and future residents is of such importance. I have attended almost all of the Board of Selectmen meetings for the last two years. While my primary concerns are ensuring the adequacy of the state’s planned remediation of the hazardous waste at the former Medfield State Hospital and reducing the significant cost impact to the town of the proposed 440-unit redevelopment, I could not help but be impressed with selectman Peterson’s …

As a member of the four-person subcommittee that worked on the Medfield Foundation's volunteer program this past year, we had countless discussions about who should judge the awards. Over and over, I was impressed by Pete's personal commitment to a transparent and unbiased process that prohibited any of us (Pete included) from taking part in any aspect of the judging. As a result, we had six …   more ›

Letter to the Editor: Reelect Osler 'Pete' Peterson for Selectman

Medfield resident Steve Catanese writes in to publicly support Osler "Pete" Peterson for selectman.

Dear Editor,   I would like to take this opportunity to publicly support the reelection campaign for Osler "Pete" Peterson to the Medfield Board of Selectmen. Pete has consistently represented the town in a positive and professional manner. He has demonstrated sound fiscal responsibility and has always asked the difficult questions of government. In my 10 years in town of volunteering with many organizations and fundraising, I have never worked with anyone who was as knowledgeable, focused or passionate for Medfield as Pete.  Pete always strives to make information available and accessible so that we can all make better informed decisions. The Board of Selectmen's agenda, meeting schedule and meeting minutes are consistently posted on the …
