Lord's Buyer Says He Will Reuse Existing Building

Salvatore Capital Partners of Dedham bought Lord's Department Store in December. Reps say the current plan is to reuse the existing building.

When the owners of Lord's Department Store announced last week they were closing the iconic downtown store after 73 Years in business, the public was shocked, then sad, then curious (while still shocked and sad). Next came the obvious question: "Once Lord's closes, what will go in?"   On Dec. 31, the building at the corner of Main and South Streets was purchased for $1,725,000 by a limited liability corporation operated by Salvatore Capital Partners of Dedham, the same company that is in the process of converting the former Mobil gas station at Main and North Streets into a Starbucks coffeehouse.
