'Guys and Dolls' Coming to Medfield Stage this Weekend

The Woodland Theatre Company's production of "Guys and Dolls" will be taking place in the Lowell Mason Auditorium of Medfield High School this weekend (May 11-13). Tickets are $30 and can be purchased at Lord's Department Store or online at WTC's website.

Doug Hodge, the Woodland Theatre Company’s producing artistic director and Sherborn resident, is about to do something he hasn’t done in over 25 years of experience in theatre. Direct “Guys and Dolls” – one of his all-time favorite musicals. “Having never done [Guys and Dolls] before … this is new, but I have seen it a million times and it really is one of those perfect shows,” Hodge said. “The music is great, the story is great, the characters are well defined and it’s really funny.” Hodge has been preparing the Woodland Theatre Company’s largest ever cast – 24 actors – since April 2 for this weekend’s production in the Lowell Mason Auditorium of Medfield High School. “In the past we couldn’t fit 24 people in a show,” Hodge said of the …

Medfield Resident to Make Professional Theatre Debut on Home Stage

Medfield resident Michelle Jaques will return to her high school stage to make her professional theatre debut – performing in the Woodland Theatre Company's production of Guys and Dolls from May 11-13 in Medfield High's Lowell Mason Auditorium.

Nearly five years since her last theatre performance in the Medfield High School auditorium, Medfield resident Michelle Jaques is returning to her "home" stage with the Woodland Theatre Company for this weekend’s production of Guys and Dolls. “I’m excited to be back on any stage since I graduated college but to be back on my home stage has been really fun,” Jaques said. Jaques, a graduate of the Medfield High School (Class of 2007), graduated from Stonehill College in 2011 with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and is currently working at UMass Medical Center in Worcester doing research. “My ultimate goal is to become a clinical childhood psychologist,” Jaques said. “Right now I’m building my resume, getting some more research experience …
