A Weston real estate pair fell in love with a badly injured pit bull mix, and they're selling homes to support the organization that saved her.
Three years ago Weston real estate agent Leslie Mann read a story on the Internet that horrified her. What she read was the story of Turtle, a female pit bull-type dog who had been abandoned in a wooded area of Hyde Park in the middle of winter. She was badly injured and barely clinging to life -- showing all the signs of a bait dog, one used to test the fighting instinct of a potential fight dog. The Animal Rescue League of Boston stepped in to help Turtle -- she was found near Turtle Pond Parkway -- nursing her back to health through six months of treatment at Tufts Veterinary Hospital in Walpole. "I was just horrified by [the story] and said, 'We have to do something for her,'" Mann said. At the time, she held a Spin class fundraiser …

On Tuesday, the Medfield Swimming and Diving teams swam against Weston. Weston came out on top on both the girls and boys sides. The girls score was 97-82, the boys score was 98-79. However, there were some close races on both sides. Senior Jenn Alban won the 200 and 500 freestyle. Alban finished in 2:05.00 and 5:35.07 respectively. Junior Alec Haley won the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:56.68. Senior Connor Haley won the 100 butterfly in 54.41 and the 500 freestyle in 4:53.06. The girls 200 freestyle relay also qualified for Sectionals and States tonight with their …

On Friday afternoon, the Medfield Swimming and Diving Team swam against Hopkinton. Although it was a highly contested meet, Hopkinton came out on top with a score of 104-80. Junior Alec Haley won the 200 and the 500 freestyle. In the 200, Haley finished in 1:55.21. In the 500, he finished in 5:19.19. Senior Connor Haley won the 200 IM in 2:06.12 and the 100 backstroke in 59.24. Medfield's divers also did very well at the meet, all scoring personal best scores. They are: Nice work, Divers! After a 0-2 start the Medfield Big Blue Boy's Basketball team has won their last three games! Over the holiday break, the team traveled to non-league Weston where it escaped with a 58-53 win. Drew Shea scored a season high 31 points, and John Zimmerman chipped in with 10. On Dec. 29th, the team beat a pesky Millis squad 76-61. Remy Fragola scored a career high 26 points in the win, John Zimmerman also had a career high 23 points, and Matt Pembroke had a strong effort with 9 points and 5 assists.
