The Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency is warning residents to be prepared for tonight's winds and rain.
It might have felt like spring in January today with temperatures reaching the mid-50s across Massachusetts, but tonight the weather could take a dangerous turn for the worst. The Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency is reporting that a "very strong" cold front will be passing through this evening and overnight. "A High Wind Watch has been posted for the Rhode Island and southeast MA coasts. Sustained winds of 30-40 mph with gusts to 50 to 60 mph are possible," A MEMA press release said. Dense fog could also be a risk across the state. Warm temperatures combined with dew points in the 50s could create limited visibility. "An isolated thunderstorm cannot be ruled out from Wednesday afternoon through Wednesday night."
