On Friday, students at Blake Middle School attended a Veterans Day assembly that honored Vietnam veterans.
The Thomas A. Blake Middle School kicked off the Veterans Day weekend by holding an assembly honoring all veterans on Friday morning at which they also recognized the Vietnam veterans who attended Medfield High School during that time.The current middle school was the town's high school during the Vietnam War. Medfield Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts worked together to fill book bags with back-to-school supplies to benefit 37 homeless children.
As another school year begins, 37 homeless children in Massachusetts are sporting brand-new backpacks filled with age appropriate school supplies and books, thanks to Medfield Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts, who teamed up to collect, pack and deliver the much-needed items to Schools on Wheels, a non-profit organization aimed at improving educational opportunities for homeless children, K-12. The scouts collected supplies through their “Scouting for School Supplies” drive, run by Medfield Girl Scout adult volunteer guide, Katherine Lyons, late last spring through summer. Together with Boy Scout Troop 89, several girls from Medfield Girl Scout Troop 74900 then sorted the supplies and delivered the backpacks to Schools on Wheels in…

Medfield Boy Scout Troop 89 is accepting reservations for its annual curbside Christmas Tree Pickup. A small donation is requested to help support Boy Scout activities.
Saturday, Jan. 12 is the last day for Medfield Boy Scout Troop 89 to pick up your Christmas tree. Organizers say the tree pickup is the troop's largest fundraiser of the year and helps support its various activities. A tax-deductible donation of $12 per tree is requested to support the Boy Scout activities. You leave the tree curbside and the Scouts will dispose of it for you.
