Daisy Troop #78192 visited the Thomas Upham House, a nursing home in Medfield, on Friday.
On Friday, Daisy Girl Scout Troop 78192 sang Christmas carols to the residents of the Thomas Upham nursing home. Fourteen Kindergarteners dressed as Candy Cane fairies entertained the residents and also presented them with handmade ornaments. "During a meeting, the girls practiced their Christmas carols and also made ornaments to decorate a Christmas tree which we also brought to the Upham House and left there for them to enjoy," explained leader Jennifer Menard. This is the girls' first year in Girl Scouts and they learned that a big piece of being a Daisy is being considerate and caring and making the world a better place, explained Menard. Members of the Medfield Garden Club prepared 20 mini Valentine's Day arrangements for the seniors in town who receive Meals on Wheels.
The Medfield Garden Club continues to show its community spirit by giving back to the town's seniors. At its Feb. 7 meeting, members of the club prepared 20 mini Valentine's Day arrangements for the seniors in town who receive Meals on Wheels delivered to their homes. "This is part of the ongoing programs we have designed to bring cheer to the seniors in town, some of whom are at home, and others who are at The Thomas Upham House," said Nancy Tella, president of the Medfield Garden Club. The Medfield Garden Club provides the materials and helping hands to make these seasonal arrangements, bringing them to the Meals on Wheels program at the Senior Center for delivery and also provides mini workshops to make floral arrangements several times…
