Jeff Marsden was the Medfield School Committee's unanimous choice for the next Superintendent of Schools.
After a months-long process, the Medfield School Committee unanimously endorsed Dr. Jeffrey Marsden as the town's next Superintendent of Schools. Subject to contract negotiations, he would assume the position on July 1 after the June 30 retirement of current Medfield Superintendent of Schools Bob Maguire. "They say it takes a village to raise a child; I can tell you that it takes a village to choose a new Superintendent," said School Committee Chairman Debbie Norschese. Marsden, who lives in Norfolk, holds a Doctorate in Education in Educational Leadership from Boston College, and has been the Superintendent of Wrentham Public Schools since 2006. Superintendent Bob Maguire sent a letter to parents on Tuesday announcing his June retirement.
On Monday night, Superintendent Robert Maguire announced his retirement to be effective in June. On Tuesday, Maguire sent a letter to Medfield parents explaining his decision. "After 22 years in Medfield, I am looking forward to a different pace and the opportunity to spend more time with my family," he said in the letter. Dale Street School principal, Kim Cave, was named the Medfield School District’s next Director of Curriculum and Assessment while recently retired Ashland principal, Arlene Argir, will replace Cave as interim principal at Dale.
Dale Street School principal Kim Cave is leaving a place she has spent half her life to take the position of Director of Curriculum and Assessment within the Medfield School District. “I feel as though I have the opportunity to stay with Dale Street and the rest of the district and I am just so excited to work with Bob [Maguire] and really help develop new systems,” Cave said. “We have so [many] exciting things to think about and to work on.
