Two Medfield High School Destination ImagiNation Teams headed for Global Finals

Two Medfield High School “Destination ImagiNation” teams recently won a state competition to compete in the Global Finals, which will be held in May.

Editor's note: The following press release was submitted by Bonnie Wren-Burgess. From a live “coming attractions” movie trailer to a community service oriented “project outreach,” Medfield High School Destination Imagination (DI) teams have been working hard since last fall to think creatively and critically and were recently rewarded at the Massachusetts State DI Tournament with winning scores. The two state champion MHS teams, with 34 other winning teams from across Massachusetts, are setting their sights on the Global Finals Destination Imagination competition in May. But first, the teams need to raise over $20,000 to cover the costs of the teams’ participation in DI Global Finals. You can help Medfield students Isobel, Hannah, Ally, …

Medfield Captures 5th State Title in Program History

The Medfield High School boys' lacrosse team beat Algonquin, 13-9, Friday night to win its second straight MIAA D2 State Championship and fifth in program history.

WORCESTER – Medfield High School head coach Bob Aronson said if Friday’s MIAA Division 2 Boys’ Lacrosse State Final against Algonquin was close heading into the fourth quarter, he liked his team’s chances of winning a second straight state title. “What we felt all along was we had a tough road to get here but I think [Algonquin] had a tougher road,” Aronson said. “With three overtime games coming here, we knew that we were all healthy and relatively fresh but if it was close it would come down to the fourth quarter and we would outlast them and that’s pretty much what happened.” Right on point, Aronson’s Warriors led 9-8 after three quarters and dominated Algonquin over the final 12 minutes, outscoring the Tomahawks, 4-1 in the fourth to …

UPDATED: Medfield Boys' Lax Captures Second Consecutive D2 East Sectional Title

Warriors knock off Concord-Carlisle, 11-5 to win second straight MIAA Division 2 East Sectional State Title; advance to MIAA Division 2 State Finals.

It is back to the MIAA Division 2 State Finals for the defending state champs.  Medfield (16-7), the ninth seed in the 2011 MIAA Division 2 East Sectional state tournament, defeated second seeded Concord-Carlisle, 11-5 Tuesday at Harvard Stadium to capture its second straight Division 2 East Sectional title and punch its ticket back to the state championship game, where it looks to successfully complete its title defense by adding another banner to an already impressive wall of achievement.  "A league title means nothing, the streak means nothing, we want another ring," said Medfield head coach Bob Aronson. That’s what we are going for." Medfield, playing its best lacrosse in June, is "peaking at the right time," according to Aronson, and …
