Stop River Beaver Dam Update
Selectman Osler "Pete" Peterson reports in his blog "Medfield 02052" that residents in the Stop River neighborhood (including Bayberry Road and Stagecoach Road) say the water was flowing fast at week's end.

The beaver dam at South St. was flowing fast on Thursday and Friday. Sunday, today, a different story, our little eager beavers have worked overtime this weekend and they have patched up the breech to a trickle and all is back to beaver normal!!!!

From what I understand... The permits are to gradually breach the dam. No emergency permits have been issue to capture or kill beaver. It's legal in MA for licensed trappers to trap beaver from November through April using case traps. So this fall, trappers could come and try to harvest the beaver. more ›
