ZBA Starbucks Hearing Continues Tonight

The Zoning Board of Appeals will meet tonight at 8 p.m.

  The Zoning Board of Appeals will meet tonight to continue the public hearing for Medfield 467 Main, LLC who have purchase the former Mobil station with the hopes of converting it to a Starbucks Coffee Shop they expect to open in the fall. The hearing will start at 8 p.m. in the Chenery Room at Town Hall.  Owner/Developer Salvatore Capital Partners plans to renovate the property at the corner of Main and North Streets, and is seeking three special permits for Zoning Bylaws: At its meeting on March 6, ZBA members expressed concerns about: The applicant's representatives say there will be an increase of 30 car trips per day after the Starbucks is up and running; the board strongly disagreed with that analysis.  "I am really scared of what …

Town Working with Developer to Keep Lord's Sign

The town is working with developer Salvatore Capital Partners LLC, who purchased the Lord's building in December, to keep the iconic Lord's sign on the building.

  Town officials met with developer Greg Salvatore to discuss his plans for the iconic Lord's sign, as well as other plans for the building, on Thursday.  Lord's Department Store will be closing on Feb. 28 after 73 years in business and Salvatore Capital Partners LLC bought the retail space at the corner of Main and South Streets on Dec. 31.  "His main concern is the [new] tenants in the building get sufficient signage," said Chairman of the Downtown Study Committee Brandie Morris. Town officials are seeking historical status for the sign that has lit up downtown for decades. If that is granted, it will help in its preservation. Starbucks to Open by September

Developer Salvatore Capital Partners purchased the former Mobil site on Thursday.

  Town officials say plans are now in full swing to open a Starbucks in downtown Medfield by the fall. "I believe they closed as of this morning," said Assistant Town Administrator Kristine Trierweiler at Thursday's meeting of the Downtown Study Committee. "They're still on target with Starbucks," said committee Chairman Brandie Morris. "They have a 10 to 12 week construction schedule...Their goal is to be opened by September." Morris said she and Police Chief Robert Meaney Jr. met with the developer Greg Salvatore earlier on Thursday to discuss the project.
