Bob Aronson Thanks Community; 'Moves Forward' from MHS Lax

Former Medfield High School boys' lacrosse coach Bob Aronson issued a statement Wednesday regarding his departure from the program after 13 seasons as the Warriors' head coach.

Former Medfield High School boys' lacrosse coach Bob Aronson issued a statement Wednesday through the Organization to Reinstate Coach Aronson (ORCA) to thank the lacrosse community for its support and ask everyone to "move forward" with the school administration's decision not to renew his contract. Aronson, the only coach in the varsity program's 11-year history, was informed by the school administration this past December that his contract would not be renewed for the 2012 season and told by MHS principal Robert Parga the lacrosse program would be "going in a new direction," according to a press release issued by ORCA on March 1. Medfield High School Seeking Nominations for 2012 'Hall of Excellence Award'

Nominations are due no later than March 2.

Medfield High School Principal, Robert Parga, has announced that he is accepting nominations of Medfield High School alumni for induction into the “Hall of Excellence.”  The Hall of Excellence Award is given annually to an MHS alumnus who excelled while at MHS and was able to take what he/she learned during those four years to achieve distinction in his/her profession and give back to others and his/her community. Some of the past recipients of this award include Ambassador Donald Booth, Class of 1972, Richard DeSorgher, Class of 1970, Dr. Arthur R. Stagg, Jr., Class of 1956, Vincent “Red” Palumbo, Class of 1936, Dr. Paula Quatromoni, Class of 1981, Pauline Goucher, Class of 1943, and most recently, Dr. Judith Cardell, Class of 1984. …

Over 1,500 Medfield Students, Faculty Gather to Remember 9/11

Medfield High School and Blake Middle School students participated in a joint assembly Friday to remember 9/11 and learn of the strength of community.

At 9:02 a.m. Friday, with an overcast sky – unlike the clear blue sky in 2001, over 1,500 students, teachers and administrators from both Medfield High School and Blake Middle School joined together on the Calvin George Fischer Memorial Football field to remember the events of 9/11, to honor those who served and died and to learn about the importance of community since that tragic day, 10 years ago. Medfield High School principal Robert Parga opened the program. He spoke about how today's senior students were in second grade in 2001 and some of the sixth graders were only a year old. He spoke of how the world has changed since that day and the fact that most of these children have experienced 9/11 through documentaries.   "Almost …

Medfield Schools to Recognize 9/11 at Joint Assembly

Medfield High School and Blake Middle School students will come together for a joint assembly on Friday, Sept. 9 to learn and discuss the impact 9/11 had on American life and remember those who tragically lost their lives a decade ago.

Principals at Medfield High and Blake Middle Schools are using the solemn 10th Anniversary of 9/11 as an opportunity to teach students about the impact and significance that day had on America. “For the 10th anniversary of the tragedy of 9/11, [Medfield High School principal] Robert [Parga] and I have been [planning] to work together at the secondary schools to have a joint assembly, hopefully on the football field and really focus on the community aspect of the tragedy of 9/11,” Blake Middle School principal Nathaniel Vaughn said. “We want to make sure we recognize [9/11] in an appropriate manner.” The joint assembly will be held on Friday, Sept. 9 on the Medfield High School turf field at 9 a.m., weather permitting and will focus on the …

New Era of Leadership Underway at Medfield High School

Medfield High School principal Robert Parga said the transition from Blake to MHS has "gone very well."

Robert Parga’s experience in the Medfield School District made for an easy transition to principal of Medfield High School after spending four years as principal at Blake Middle School. “The transition has gone very well,” Parga said. “We finished our hiring in June so the staff has been in place for a couple of months. Our mentors have been meeting with the new staff to better prepare them for the school year.
