Spring Clean for Medfield Green Day, May 4

Medfield GREEN DAY is a drive-thru donating and recycling event held annually to provide residents with a quick and easy way to pass along items that they no longer need.

  It's time to start Spring Cleaning which means it's time to think about recycling and repurposing, and that's where "Medfield GREEN DAY" comes in. On Saturday, May 4, from 9 a.m. to noon, Medfield Green will be hosting its annual Medfield GREEN DAY at the American Legion, 110 Peter Kristof Way, Medfield, where more than a dozen local non-profit organizations will be on-site to accept donations.  Medfield GREEN DAY is a drive-thru donating and recycling event held annually to provide residents with a quick and easy way to pass along items that they no longer need. ZBA Resignation, Recycling Hauler, and More Selectmen Meeting Notes

Here is a look at what the selectmen discussed at their meeting on Dec. 18.

The Board of Selectmen met on Tuesday night and discussed the following: * Held a moment of silence in honor of the Dec. 14 tragedy in Newtown, Connecticut. * Learned the transfer station will be open extra hours next week including Dec. 26, Dec. 27, Dec. 28, and Dec. 29. * Voted to award the town's single stream recycling contract to E.L. Harvey & Sons, Inc. of Westborough * Received a recycling grant from the Department of Environmental Protection that gives $1,000 to the town to update the printed materials at the transfer station; it also gives $2,000 to the school department to update the recycling equipment for the school custodians. * Approved the meeting minutes of Dec. 4, 2012 * Awarded the by-law codification contract to General …

Countdown: Eight Days Until Medfield Green Day

Medfield Green is offering residents a chance to do some spring-cleaning and be green by recycling unwanted and used materials. This year’s Medfield Green Day is scheduled for Saturday, May 5 from 9 a.m. to noon at the American Legion Hall.

Medfield’s biggest recycling day of the year is just eight days away and Medfield Patch is helping you prepare for the annual event by highlighting different items you can donate. Leading off our countdown series, we are highlighting clothing items and shoes that can be donated at the 2012 Medfield Green Day, which will be held Saturday, May 5 outside and inside the American Legion Hall from 9 a.m. to noon. Clothing: Residents have the opportunity to donate clothing of all sizes for men, women and children. Participants are asked to separate clothing by child’s gender, adult male, adult female, work and formal attire. Shoes: All types and sizes of shoes will be accepted for donation. Editor's note: The following article was written by MHS student Michaela Luttman, a member of the student newspaper, "The Kingsbury Chronicle." Luttman's piece is part of Medfield Patch's weekly series, "Warrior Weekly," which appears every Wednesday. With temperatures reaching the 50s and 60s in December and January, many blame global warming. With that accusation comes fear for our environment and what we can do to protect our planet. At Medfield High School, the Environmental Club is doing what they can to bring awareness to this issue. I am one of the leaders of the club, which is advised by Mr. Cushing, and with meetings every Tuesday, our main focus is to do what we can to help save our environment.
