Use Caution: Nor'easter Leaving Roads Slick

National Weather Service says 2 to 4 inches of snow possible. A wind and winter weather advisory are in effect until Thursday morning.

Drivers are advised to use caution as they traverse Medfield roads tonight. The police department reports a high number of car accidents due to the nor'easter that is expected to drop between two and four inches of snow in town, according to the National Weather Service reports. An unofficial measurement by Patch indicates nearly three inches of snow have fallen since 1 p.m. today. Around 6 p.m., the state's Department of Transportation tweeted that "Snow, ice crews now total 243 treating, plowing roadways. Light to Moderate snow. Roads wet to slush, snow covered. UPDATE: Handful of Medfield NSTAR Customers Still Without Power

NSTAR reports that some customers are still without power after Hurricane Sandy.

When Medfield turned off the light Thursday night, there were still at least three NSTAR customers (or .06 percent) unable to do the same since they still have no power due to Hurricane Sandy.  Throughout the storm and clean-up, NSTAR has maintained an outage map of customers affected by Hurricane Sandy.  The list shows the total number of NSTAR customers in each town; the reported number of NSTAR customers without power; and the percentage of NSTAR customers reported without power. According to the map, a total of 1,234 (or less than 1 percent) of NSTAR's 1,151,085 Massachusetts customers are still without power.

UPDATE: 309 Medfield NSTAR Customers Still Without Power

NSTAR reports that some customers are still without power after Hurricane Sandy.

When Medfield turned in for the night on Wednesday, there were still 93 NSTAR customers (or 1.94 percent) without power.  NSTAR has been maintaining an outage map of customers affected by Hurricane Sandy.  The list shows the total number of NSTAR customers in each town; the reported number of NSTAR customers without power; and the percentage of NSTAR customers reported without power. According to the map, a total of 14,920 (or 1 percent) of NSTAR's 1,151,085 Massachusetts customers are still without power.  Did you lose power? If so, for how long? National Grid President Says Company Has "All Hands on Deck"

The president of National Grid offered an update on Monday afternoon about the company's preparedness and response to Hurricane Sandy.

There are more than 1,300 electric crews on the ground in Massachusetts ready to restore power in the National Grid service area once Hurricane Sandy blows through. That’s according to Marcy Reed, president of National Grid in Massachusetts. She met with the press on Monday afternoon in a conference call for about 20 minutes where she said the company has been preparing for Hurricane Sandy since last Monday. As of mid afternoon Monday, the hardest hit areas included Quincy on the South Shore and Salem on the North Shore, she said. “Many utilities have been able to send crews and they are here,” she said. NSTAR Gas Scores Highest in Customer Satisfaction Survey

According to J. D. Power and Associates, overall customer satisfaction is measured by using six factors: billing and payment, price, corporate citizenship, communications, customer service and field service.

Northeast Utilities subsidiaries NSTAR Gas and Yankee Gas have earned the top two rankings in customer satisfaction among residential natural gas customers in the Eastern U.S., according to a recently released J. D. Power and Associates survey. The survey of 10 of the east region’s midsized gas utilities puts NSTAR Gas of Massachusetts at the top of the list, followed closely by Yankee Gas of Connecticut. “Our unyielding attention to customer satisfaction and reliable service is clearly having a positive impact on how our customers view us,” said Rod Powell, President of NSTAR Gas and Yankee Gas in a press release. “Natural gas is increasingly the fuel of choice in our region and local residents are putting their trust in us to keep their …

Be Prepared: Tips to Weather the Storm

National Grid advises residents to chill fridge, fill tub with water, turn off propane tanks, avoid phone, check on elders, prepare emergency supply kit, etc.

National Grid lists the following tips for customers, on its website, to minimize inconvenience and maximize safety in the event that storm-related power interruptions do occur.  IMPORTANT: People who depend on electric-powered life support equipment, such as a respirator, should let National Grid know. NSTAR Says It's Ready for Hurricane Sandy

NSTAR says it has secured contractor crews from as far away as the states of Texas and Washington to help New England.
