Month in Review: Lord's Closes, Missing Man, Blizzard 2013, and More

Here's a look at some of the headlines from February 2013.

  Wow, Medfield! For a short month, we sure filled it with lots of headlines.  Of the many notable events, we had the Blizzard of 2013, a man missing in Noon Hill Reservation (later found safe), a Celebration of Lord's, and finally -- on the final day of the month -- the closing of Lord's Department Store after 73 years in business. Here's a peek at February's headlines:

Traffic control at St. Edward's Church.  9:26 a.m., Main Street. Traffic control at United Church of Christ. 10:59 a.m., North Street. Caller reported a disabled motor vehicle near the Mobil station.  11:52 a.m., Main Street. Caller requested an ambulance for an elderly woman having trouble breathing. Medfield Ambulance took her to Framingham. 2:37 p.m., Hospital Road. Caller reported there is water coming out of the top of the water tower at the Medfield State Hospital. Police contacted the Water Department who said it was the overflow. 4:07 p.m., mutual aid. …

Monday, Oct. 29 7:12 a.m., Causeway Street. Caller reported a brush fire in the woods off her back yard. Fire Department reported that NSTAR was on the scene and extinguished the fire. 9:04 a.m., Harding Street. Tree fell on house at 56 Harding Street. 9:06 a.m., Hartford Street. Pole is leaning. Police said the pole was leaning away from the road and poses no risk at this time.  12:17 p.m., High Street and South Street. Tree down in road. 12:26 p.m., Brook Street. Two trees down. NSTAR notified. 12:30 p.m., Nebo Street. Transformer fire, wires down. NSTAR and Medfield Fire notified.  12:38 p.m., Stoneybook Road. Wire down. NSTAR notified. 12:52 p.m., Hartford Street. Tree blocking road. Police were able to move the treet to the side of …

Friday, Oct. 19 6:29 a.m., Route 27 and West Street. Caller reported a minor car accident at Route 27 and West Street. 7:39 a.m., Main and Brook Streets. Caller reported a minor car accident near Main and Brook Streets. 10:56 a.m., Main and Brook Streets. Police pulled over a black 1999 Nissan Altima. Police are seeking a summons to arrest a 33-year-old Millis woman with (1) operating after revocation of registration, and (2) uninsured motor vehicle. 1:17 p.m., Route 27 and West Street. Police provided traffic control at 8:02 a.m., 10 a.m., and 12:05 p.m. 9:32 a.m., Causeway Street. Caller reported that she had four pumpkins stolen during the night. 1:06 p.m., Bridge Street. Caller reported she had a ring stuck on her finger. Medfield Fire Department responded and cut off the ring. 5:25 p.m., Kamark Drive. Police responded to a family disturbance. Sunday, Sept. 30 7:16 a.m., Spring Street.  Police assisted with church traffic at 7:16 a.m, 8:06 a.m., 9:15 a.m., 10:18 a.m., 11:17 a.m., 12:13 p.m. and 6:31 p.m. 9:17 a.m., Main Street.  Police assisted with church traffic. 3:20 p.m., Philip Street. Caller reported cars parked on Philip Street near Cross Street. Caller reported he had to go into the other lane to pass the cars. Police discovered a house party in the area and the cars were moved. 3:23 p.m., Johns Avenue. Caller requested a well-being check on her kids.  They are with her husband and nobody is answering the phone.
