Very preliminary estimates suggest the public safety complex could cost $15 million.
The Permanent Building Committee held the first of a series of public information sessions on Monday night to discuss the town's need for updated public safety facilities. The fire station was built in 1960 and the police department was built in 1977. "We're in the data collection mode where we're just trying to learn what the needs are," said Bill Hammer of HKT Architects, noting the current police and fire stations are "old, they're inadequate, and they're not …

The concept of the Dale Street Campus would be to tie police and fire stations, Dale Street School and Parks and Recreation renovations together as part of the committee's "master plan."
The Medfield Permanent Building Committee discussed the possibility of creating a campus on Dale Street as the site of future capital projects as part of its “master plan.” Medfield Permanent Building Committee member Timothy Bonfatti stressed the need to develop both capital and “master” plans for the town’s renovation and expansion projects of the police and fire stations, Dale Street School and Park and Recreation facilities at the committee's last meeting. Bonfatti said it was necessary to develop these plans and “present them, along with existing debt schedules, future debt projections and a financing plan, including tax rate and fee impacts to the town.” The campus would be centered on the section of Dale Street, between North and …

Classes will start again the week of Jan. 3, with some new programs being added to the usual stable of classes. This session, Parks & Rec went green and did not print and bulk mail the brochure with all the classes. Instead, the brochure can be found online, click heredownload the brochure onto your computer as a PDF document. By doing this, it allows the staff to continually update classes, either by date changes or adding classes to the existing schedule. A couple of highlights are trips during an early release day from school…

He what a surprise, it seems Medfield must have a reason for tax increase every year so now it's the police and fire station. Don't get me wrong, I thing Fire and police should be top priority behind maintenance and last the schools. But now my property taxes are out of control. No matter what they say it's gone up every year more than 2.5 %. The re-evaluated the town and my tales are 8 percent …   more ›
