When Will Roadwork on North Street be Done?

Short answer: "We should not be holding our breath," according to one selectman.

The following is an update on the road construction on North Street and Green Street from Selectman Osler "Pete" Peterson. It originally appeared on his personal blog Medfield02052 on March 6, 2013. North & Green Sts. status I queried Ken Feeney at the BoS meeting last night about what will happen when on North Street and Green Street, while he was in to discuss his budgets, and this is his expected time frame:

New Police and Fire Station Discussed

Very preliminary estimates suggest the public safety complex could cost $15 million.

The Permanent Building Committee held the first of a series of public information sessions on Monday night to discuss the town's need for updated public safety facilities.The fire station was built in 1960 and the police department was built in 1977. Discussions are part of an overall long-range permanent building plan that would address town buildings in the North/Dale/Adams Streets area, including the town recreation center (at the Pfaff Center) and the Dale Street School (and the possibility of a new elementary school).  "We're in the data collection mode where we're just trying to learn what the needs are," said Bill Hammer of HKT Architects, noting the current police and fire stations are "old, they're inadequate, and they're not …

Support Medfield Students through Silent Auction and Raffle at Medfield Day

MEMO will use proceeds from silent auction and raffle at Medfield Day for academic scholarships for Medfield and Tri-County High School students.

With the high cost of college education constantly increasing, graduating seniors are in need of help and the Medfield Employers and Merchants Organization, MEMO is there at graduation to present their scholarships at Medfield and Tri-County Regional high schools thanks to member donations to the silent auction and raffle on Medfield Day. Fairgoers should look for the MEMO booth at the entrance to the park by Meeting House Pond to the rear of the historic meeting house on Saturday, Sept. 17.  Great new items have come in since the last report of generous Boston Celtics and Red Sox items. NSTAR to Prune Trees in Medfield from August to September

NSTAR says the pruning work in Medfield will take place in early August and be completed by September. The project is expected to cover a total of 36 miles as work will be done in Dover as well.

In an effort to help reduce tree-related power outages for its customers, NSTAR is expected to start pruning trees in several areas throughout Medfield, beginning in early August and wrapping up by September.  NSTAR's tree pruning contractors will be working in the areas of Evergreen Way, Harding Street, Hospital Road, Mill Street and North Street. The entire project, according to NSTAR, includes work in Dover and covers a total of 36 miles. "Trees are one of the top causes of power outages, so it's important that we address them through proper pruning," said Chris Fallon, NSTAR senior arborist. "We recognize the aesthetic and environmental benefits of trees, [so] we do our work with the utmost care for their long-term health." NSTAR said …
