A limited number of tickets to the Jan. 20 AFC Championship Game at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough go on sale to the general public on Thursday, Jan. 17.

That game will be played at Gillette Stadium on Sunday, Jan. 20 at 6:30 p.m. against the Baltimore Ravens. It is the second consecutive season the Patriots and Ravens will meet in the AFC Championship game at Gillette Stadium. New England beat Baltimore in last season’s AFC title game, 23-20 to advance to Super Bowl XLVI. The Patriots are 7-1 all-time in AFC Championship Games, including 4-0 in Foxborough (3-0 at Gillette Stadium) but just 1-1 against the Ravens in the postseason. The New England Patriots will wear black-ribbon logos on their helmets and hold a moment of silence before Sunday night's game against the San Francisco 49ers in Foxborough.
Foxborough will be center stage of the National Football League world for the second time in six days Sunday night when the New England Patriots host the San Francisco 49ers in primetime on NBC's Sunday Night Football. But even a game with so much significance on playoff positioning will simply be less important in the wake of Friday's tragedy in Newtown, CT. The New England Patriots, along with the rest of the country, will have the 26 victims of Friday's shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School on their minds and in their hearts during Sunday's game at Gillette Stadium. In recognition of Friday's tragedy, the Patriots plan to honor the 20 children and six adults killed in the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School by wearing black-…

The New England Patriots won convincingly against the Rams in London to improve to 5-3 this season.
NOTE: View the photo gallery above for scenes from Sunday's 45-7 Patriots' victory at Wembley Stadium in London. That's more like it. After hearing plenty of criticism from fans and media that they struggle to beat "lesser opponents" and close teams out, the New England Patriots put forth their most convincing effort of the season. The Patriots (5-3) dismantled the St. Louis Rams (3-5) in London Sunday enroute to a 45-7 blowout victory at Wembley Stadium. Quarterback Tom Brady threw for 304 yards and four touchdowns - two to wide receiver Brandon Lloyd and two to tight end Rob Gronkowski. Running back Stevan Ridley also had a big day for the offense, picking up 127 yards on 15 carries and scoring a touchdown. The Pats' defense allowed just…

Negotiations between neighboring Foxborough and the Kraft Group continue to be a hot topic as Kraft seeks another eight liquor licenses, and the town needs to decide whether the negotiations should be done in public session. What do you think?
The Kraft Group is requesting eight additional liquor licenses for Phase II of Patriot Place in Foxborough. The licenses, it says, are necessary to further develop the shopping, dining and entertainment complex with restaurants, a bowling and entertainment complex and a hotel. Foxborough is already over its quota for liquor licenses from Phase I of the Patriot Place megaplex, meaning the town will have to request more from the state if an agreement is reached between the Kraft Group and the town. Foxborough would have to solicit the state for more licenses, say town officials. Foxborough town officials must decide if the negotiations between the town and the Kraft Group should be done in open forum or executive session. Town Counsel …

The Finish at the 50 road race that ends at Gillette Stadium’s midfield on July 3 will include the HERO (Human Education Resource Officer) Campaign among the charities it supports this year, according to Norfolk District Attorney Michael W. Morrissey. The 5K, 10K and Kids’ Run are part of an all-day event starting at noon with children’s activities around Patriot Place and the stadium and ending with fireworks at 9 p.m. The Kid’s Run, which also ends at the 50-yard line, begins at 3 p.m.; the adult races start at 6 p.m. “When runners register on-line, they can choose from a small list of charities that will benefit from their registration fees,” Morrissey said. “I will be there with the parents of Ensign John R. In a busy sports week, which local team has your eye?
Welcome to one of the busiest weeks in sports. The Bruins are in a tough fight against the Washington Capitals in the first round of the playoffs. They'll be playing a game 7 on Wednesday night. The Celtics are looking to close out the NBA regular season in strong form. They'll be playing the Miami Heat on Tuesday and the Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday. Meanwhile, the Patriots are preparing for the NFL draft, one of the biggest events on the football calendar. That three-day marathon starts on Thursday night. Oh yeah, and there's a team called the Red Sox playing its regular season. Unfortunately, given our limited number of eyes, humans are only capable of watching so much at once. So, which of Boston's sports teams has your eye this week?
