Help Needed: Gifts Needed for Eight Children Still on "Angel Tree"

There are still eight names left on the Angel Tree at Needham Bank. Toys are due back to the bank by Dec. 17.

The community of Medfield has been extremely supportive of the Angel Tree Program but your help is still needed. There are still eight Angel tags remaining on the tree at Needham Bank with the deadline to purchase and return the gifts less than one week away.  All gifts need to be purchased, wrapped and placed under the tree at Needham Bank on or before Monday, Dec. 17. Please consider stopping by Needham Bank on Main Street and taking an Angel tag.  Your kindness will be greatly appreciated by the Medfield Youth Outreach workers and the children who will benefit by your generosity.

Angel Tree Program at Needham Bank Depends on Community Support

The Angel Tree Program is up and running at Needham Bank. The community's help is needed to meet the needs of 140 children this year.

The Medfield Youth Outreach department is once again giving the community the opportunity to help a Medfield child or teen in need this holiday season through the Angel Tree Program at Needham Bank. On the tree, you will find a paper angel with a gift request on it.  Simply take an angel and fulfill the request most of which are for an item of $35 or less.  The wrapped item should be returned to the bank by 9 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 17. The Angel Tree’s mission is to provide one "want" and one "need" to a Medfield child or teen during the holiday season. The program has grown to include the support of various other sources and, thanks to community assistance, it has also been able to grow its ability to meet the needs of local families who …

'Infractions' to Headline Tonight's Concert at the Gazebo

Personal Best Karate will host "Infractions" at tonight’s Concert at the Gazebo as part of MEMO's Summer Concert Series.

The band "Infractions” will headline tonight’s annual summer concert series, sponsored by MEMO (the Medfield Employers and Merchants Organization) and Needham Bank, its corporate sponsor. Personal Best Karate will host tonight’s event. Infractions is a seven-member ensemble, started in 1990, that features a three-piece horn section known as “the Happening Horns” and a four-piece rhythm section.  The band’s music ranges from Funk and Hip Hop to contemporary Ska and Swing combined with 70’s and 80’s favorites. Needham Bank donates $8,000 to Medfield Afterschool Program

Needham Bank has made a donation as part of MAP's Quest Capital Campaign. The Memorial School MAP site will undergo extensive repairs this summer.

Needham Bank is proud to announce its support of the Medfield Afterschool Program (MAP) by contributing $8,000 toward capital repairs to the program’s Memorial School site. Needham Bank has five branches throughout the greater Boston area, including one in Medfield. MAP is a parent-based non-profit after school program established to provide quality care to children in grades K-8 enrolled in Medfield Public schools.  The program offers a variety of enrichment activities and services to more than 300 children annually at its four sites. A capital needs assessment has determined that the Memorial School site, located on North Street, is in need of extensive wall repair to counteract trapped water.  Work slated to begin at the end of June …

I hope residents will consider Needham Bank and other local businesses like them who regularly donate to community causes and events. I can't recall the last time I saw the Bank of America or Shaw's making these types of donations - it seems to always be Needham Bank, Roche Brothers, etc. that support their community.   more ›

Medfield Music Director Doug Olsen to perform at Zullo Gallery on June 8

Needham Bank is sponsoring the June 8 fundraiser at the Zullo Gallery featuring Medfield Music director Doug Olsen.

After witnessing the talents first-hand of Medfield's jazz students at the recent Jazz Night, Needham Bank has put its support behind Music Director Doug Olsen’s fundraising show for the Zullo Gallery on Friday, June 8, in addition to the MEMO concert series kicking off with the jazz band’s performance at the Gazebo on June 14. “The Medfield jazz band has had an amazing year, and the students are fortunate to have Doug Olsen leading it. PHOTOS: Patriots' Day Unveilings at Vine Lake Cemetery

Many gathered Monday at Vine Lake Cemetery to listen to author, Dr. Samuel A. Forman speak about Medfield's own "Daughter of Liberty," Mercy Scollay, and receive the new cemetery map.

On Patriots' Day in Medfield, under a hot sun and 85 degree temperatures, author Samuel A. Forman stood near the gravesite of Mercy Scollay in Vine Lake Cemetery.  Forman was dressed in period militia uniform and had just returned from the Battle Green in Lexington. He spent the morning in Lexington as a Minuteman reenactor, battling the British.  "I am sad to report that we lost to the British again; for the 237th time," he said. Forman is a physician, historian, educator, and author of "Dr. Joseph Warren: The Boston Tea Party, Bunker Hill, and the Birth of American Liberty." Medfield Jazz Night to Feature MHS Jazz Band and 3-Time Grammy Nominee Conrad Herwig

Medfield's annual Jazz Night, presented by Needham Bank, will feature the Medfield High School Jazz Band and Grammy-nominated trombonist Conrad Herwig on May 30 at 7 p.m. in the Lowell Mason Auditorium of Medfield High School.

This year’s Jazz Night, presented by Needham Bank, will feature internationally renowned, three-time Grammy nominee and New York jazz trombonist Conrad Herwig, who will perform with the award-winning Medfield High School jazz band, at the Medfield High School Lowell Mason Auditorium at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 30. Herwig has performed and recorded with such jazz greats as Miles Davis, Frank Sinatra and Tito Puente. He currently performs with the Mingus Big Band. The Medfield High School Jazz Band took home the first-place “Big Band” award at the Mingus competition in New York last year; earned an outstanding soloist award at this year’s Mingus event; and is only one of 15 high school jazz bands selected from across the country and Canada …

Needham Bank Donates $3K to Vine Lake Preservation Trust

Contribution to fund historical tour map of Medfield’s Vine Lake Cemetery.

NEEDHAM – Needham Bank, with five branches throughout the greater Boston area, is proud to announce its support of Medfield's Vine Lake Preservation Trust. Medfield's Angel Tree Program Requests Community's Help

The Medfield Youth Outreach department is giving the  community the opportunity to meet a Medfield child or teen's want or need this holiday season.  Needham Bank, 520 Main St., hosting the Angel Tree this year. On the tree, you will find a paper angel with a gift request on it. Simply take an angel and fulfill the request. Most requests are for an item $35 or less. The wrapped item should be returned by Dec. 14th to the bank. The Angel Tree Program was started in the mid 1990's by Dot Steves, the former Branch Manager of the former Ben Franklin Bank and the Medfield Youth Outreach office.  In 2009, the Tree was moved to Needham Bank when they graciously stepped up to accept the tree when it lost it's home.  This year, 150 angels were …
