At its meeting Monday night, Medfield's BCRT Committee discussed costs associated with the conversion of the old railroad tracks to a rail trail, grants and donations received, and the revenue attainable from salvaged iron.

What do you think of the proposed seven-mile trail through Needham, Medfield and Dover?
At the town’s last Board of Selectmen meeting (Nov. 1), selectmen Osler “Pete” Peterson and Mark Fisher voted in favor of creating a committee to study the proposed Bay Colony Rail Trail and its relevance to Medfield. “The selectmen created a committee to study whether the town should create the Bay Colony Rail Trail and make recommendations as to the issues involved,” Peterson wrote on his blog, Medfield 02052. “The issues are already well defined but not all the answers are clear. Rino Nadalini of Millis was arrested for OUI in Medfield on Saturday, July 9 and Jonathan Geist of Needham was arrested for OUI in Medfield on Sunday, July 5.
Motor Vehicle Stops Leads to Arrest of Millis Man Medfield Police officer Daniel Pellegrini pulled over a gray 2007 Ford F150 on Route 109 at Hatters Hill Road and Main Street at 7:20 p.m. on Saturday, July 9 and arrested the vehicle’s operator, according to police reports. Rino Nadalini, 38, of 35 Ross Ave., Millis, was charged with OUI-liquor (first offense) and marked lanes violation. Officer Pellegrini requested Assured Collision towing for Nadalini’s Ford F150. Nadalini was transported to Dover Police Department for a breathalyzer test at 7:49 p.m. and returned to Medfield Police Station at 8:42 p.m. Bail was set at $40 and Nadalini’s girlfriend came into the station to pick him up. Medfield Post 110 beat Needham and Norfolk to open 2011 American Legion baseball season.
The Medfield Post 110 American Legion Baseball team opened its 2011 season on Friday, June 10, beating Needham 13-3 at Needham High School. Two days later, Medfield was back on the diamond and defeated Norfolk, 9-4 to get an early jump atop the standings with two wins equalling four points. Medfield's games against Brookline (June 9) and Canton (June 11) were postponed due to rain. Post 110 returns to action Tuesday when it travels to Westwood for a 5:45 p.m. game. Rob Mintz is the team's manager and the club is made up of players from Medfield, Millis, Dover-Sherborn, Noble & Greenough of Dedham and Milton Academy of Milton. Barbara Doherty, RN, of Medfield, was recently honored by Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Needham during Nurses’ Week. Doherty received the Team Leadership award honoring her work in the Emegency Department and throughout the hospital.
