Angel Tree Program at Needham Bank Depends on Community Support

The Angel Tree Program is up and running at Needham Bank. The community's help is needed to meet the needs of 140 children this year.

The Medfield Youth Outreach department is once again giving the community the opportunity to help a Medfield child or teen in need this holiday season through the Angel Tree Program at Needham Bank. On the tree, you will find a paper angel with a gift request on it.  Simply take an angel and fulfill the request most of which are for an item of $35 or less.  The wrapped item should be returned to the bank by 9 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 17. The Angel Tree’s mission is to provide one "want" and one "need" to a Medfield child or teen during the holiday season. The program has grown to include the support of various other sources and, thanks to community assistance, it has also been able to grow its ability to meet the needs of local families who …

Student-Led Committee to Host Town-Wide Dance on March 23

The Medfield Youth Action Committee is organizing a town-wide swing dance on Friday, March 23 at the Pfaff Center from 7 to 10 p.m. to bring the community’s youth and adults together.

The Medfield Youth Action Committee, a student-led initiative in town, was organized this past July to bring the community’s youth and adults together. After months of hard work and dedication, the 30-member committee is ready to hold its first major event – a town-wide swing dance at the Pfaff Center on Friday, March 23 from 7 to 10 p.m. “Everyone from the community is invited,” said Courtney Beckwith, a Medfield High School senior and member of the Medfield Youth Action Committee (MYAC). “[The dance is] a good way to spend a Friday night. … You can go and you can dance ... dancing is always fun.” The town-wide event will feature music from the nationally recognized and award-winning Medfield High School Jazz Band and offer swing dance …

Letter to the Editor: Medfield Youth Outreach Thanks Community for Support During Holidays

Medfield Youth Outreach writes in to thank the Medfield community for its overwhelming support and care for others around the holiday season.

We are overwhelmed by the generosity of the Medfield community year round, but especially at Christmas. The programs at Medfield Youth Outreach that help residents connect to resources continue to grow with the love and care that neighbors show neighbors in this special community. We were blessed to have Nicki Gustafson and Jeanne McKenzie once again coordinate the Christmas Angel’s program for Medfield residents. With their help, 36 Medfield families were sponsored for Christmas this year. We can’t thank the residents who sponsored families enough for their kindness and generosity.
