The Boston Globe Magazine identifies Medfield as a community with a family atmosphere, good school system, and a range of activities for residents of all ages. Medfield was one of 13 Eastern Massachusetts communities the Boston Globe spotlighted in its 2013 "Greater Boston's Top Spots to Live" feature. Citing the importance of home buyers wanting to "feel confident that they’re making a good investment" when purchasing a home, the Globe identified 13 communities "all on the upswing, with the biggest single-family home price increases in Greater Boston from 2011 to 2012." Another successful Discover Medfield Day. Thousands of people gathered on the downtown streets and around Meeting House Pond to celebrate the Town of Medfield. The day started with the Medfield Day Fun Run and 5K Road Race. Check CoolRunning.com for 5K race results which include top runners Andrew Robartes and Kerry McCormack of Medfield. Medfield Day festivities continue until 3 p.m.
The sun is out and the streets are filling quickly. Come down to Medfield Day and check out all the booths, food, music, etc. Be sure to check out the Medfield Patch booth right outside the Dwight Derby House (where you can take a tour at 11:30 a.m., 1 p.m., 1:45 p.m., 2:30 p.m.) And we're still missing the Patch Puppy. Here's a look at what's going on this weekend as well as Your Guide to 'Discover Medfield' Day (map, vendor list, schedule, etc.)
1. Discover Medfield Day will take place on Saturday, Sept. 15 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on North Street and around Meetinghouse Pond. Keep an eye out for the Patch Puppy. Sponsored by MEMO. 2. Medfield Day 5K and Fun Run. Pfaff Center, 8:30 a.m. registration. 3. Medfield Public Library activities today include family crafts and games in the Activity Room from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. 4. Historic Peak House, 345 Main Street, is open on Sunday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Enjoy Medfield town history and Colonial artifacts that are on display. 5. KISS and Motley Crue will play the Comcast Center on Sunday at 7 p.m. Tickets are still available.

T-shirts are guaranteed for those who register before September 6.
Registration is now open for the 17th annual Medfield Day 5K Road Race and 1K Fun Run/Walk which will take place on September 15. T-shirts are guaranteed for anyone who pre-registers before September 6. Proceeds from the race support programs sponsored by the Medfield Park and Recreation Department. Last year, 177 people participated in the race which had a fundraising goal of $5,000. There are two races – a 5K road race and a 1K Fun Run/Walk for children. The 5K starts at the Pfaff Center, heads up North Street, bears off to Harding Street, proceeds to Hospital Road then returns on the same path. Acoustic Fire will appear at the MEMO summer concerts at the Gazebo, July 26 beginning at 6 p.m. A popular feature during July and August in Medfield, the concerts are one of the many seasonal activities offered by the Medfield employers and merchants organization for residents of the area. Funding in part is provided by The Needham Bank and weekly MEMO hosts. This week’s MEMO member, Rockland Trust, hosts Acoustic Fire. In the event of rain cancellations, the Medfield Public Library will host a family movie at 6 pm. More than 100 booths have been reserved for this year's Discover Medfield Day to be held on September 15.
The following is a MEMO press release. Registration for Discover Medfield Day 2012, September 15, is now open. While preference was given to 2011 participants and MEMO (Medfield Employers and Merchants Organization) members during the first two months, unreserved booth sites now will be given on a first come first served basis. Registration is available on-line at www.medfieldmemo.org and checks to secure the chosen booth site must be paid within ten days to MEMO, PO Box 6, Medfield MA 02052 or at Rockland Trust Bank on North St. The registration information regarding fees with other pertinent references will be found on the website under Medfield Day.
