Members of the Massachusetts Cultural Council paid a visit to Medfield last week to tour the proposed Medfield Cultural District and meet with the partners, participants and stakeholders in the district which is suggested to reach from Vine Lake Cemetery to the Peak House. "Their site visit is the culmination of the Medfield Cultural District’s application for state recognition as a cultural district," said MEMO President Brandie Morris, noting there have been 14 other newly-created districts in the state over the past year. "The purpose of the district is in part to increase cultural activities in town, co-market the various groups and events, and increase tourism," said Morris. The Gazebo Player's will bring to life Shakespeare's "Comedy of Errors" at the Medfield Gazebo Saturday, Sunday and July 28-29. Show begins at 5 p.m.
An extreme comedy of errors can be witnessed Saturday night (and three chances after that) as the Gazebo Players – now in its 10th year – bring to life Shakespeare’s story of "The Comedy of Errors," a farce involving two sets of identical twins and a seemingly endless stream of mistaken identities. Performances will be held on July 23, 24, 30 and 31 at 5 p.m. at the Gazebo near the Medfield Public Library. In case of rain, the show will go on at the Montrose School at 29 North St. Performances are free and open to the public. Picnics are encouraged and light refreshments will be available.
