Medfield Indoor Track Star Places 5th at New Englands

MHS senior Alex Stanton competed in the New England Indoor Track Championship on March 4.

BOSTON – Medfield High School senior and indoor track standout, Alex Stanton, competed in the New England Indoor Track Championship on Friday, March at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston. Stanton placed fifth in the 600 meter run with a time of 1:35.50.

Medfield Boys' and Girls' Indoor Track Competes in State Meet

Girls' finish ninth in Division 3 State Meet; Boys' tracksters place in several events.

BOSTON – On this past Saturday, 35 towns competed in the Division 3 state meet at the Reggie Lewis Center, including Medfield.   MHS' Alex Stanton won first place gold in her two events, the 55 meter hurdles and the 600 meters.  The senior, who has committed to run division I for Brown University next year, currently holds nine Medfield High School track records.  The girls' team placed ninth overall, racking up more points with a fourth place finish in the 4x200 relay run by Kate Piersak, Mekenzie Smith, Taylor Worthy and Kristina Gustafson.   Gustafson, a freshman, also had a strong …

VIDEO: Highlights of Medfield Indoor Track Teams At TVL Meet

Medfield indoor track teams competed in the Tri-Valley League Championships last week. Watch highlights from the meet here.

The Medfield High School boys' and girls' indoor track teams competed in the Tri-Valley League Championships on Feb. 6 at the Reggie Lewis Arena in Boston. The boys', coming off an undefeated dual-meet season and Tri-Valley League title, finished tied for second with Westwood behind first-place Hopkinton. The Warriors had defeated the Hillers in the last meet of the season to win the TVL.  Medfield's Brian D’Amore came in first in the 55-meter dash and James Marvel-Coen won the 55-meter hurdles. Mike Creedon finished second in the 2-mile run. Warriors' shot putters finished fourth through seventh in the event (Luke Barrett, Chris Triest, Ife Adebayo and Matt Russell). 'Fitting End' to Regular Season for Medfield High Boys' Indoor Track

Warriors capped perfect regular season with 44-42 victory over Hopkinton to win the Tri-Valley League title. MHS turns its attention to Sunday's TVL Meet.

Despite a complete team effort, this year's Tri-Valley League boys' indoor track title came down to something Medfield Warriors coach Tom Woods had discussed previous to the meet against Hopkinton on Jan. 26.  “We wanted to beat them before the 4X400 relay,” Woods said. “We knew they had a strong relay team.” Medfield's Mike Creedon – who also won the two mile - won the mile for the Warriors, the last event before the relay, Joey Smith placed third, and Medfield won the meet, 44-42, securing the title and making the final event, the relay, irrelevant. “It was fitting,” Woods said. “It was appropriate for that meet.
