The Medfield Public Schools are hosting eight students and three teachers from China as part of its Mandarin language program.
There's a new kid in town. Well, actually eight new kids. On Monday, eight students and three teachers were welcomed into the Medfield school system as part of a three-week exchange program between Medfield and its sister city Bengbu, China. They arrived late last week and will be fully engrossed in Medfield living for the next three weeks. They will stay with host families, take classes in the schools and provide tutoring to Medfield students taking Mandarin, participate in extra-curricular activities, and visit sites around the town and state to help them learn first-hand about life in America. Warriors overwhelm Holliston Sunday to pick up their 14th win of the season.
HOLLISTON – The Medfield High School girls' lacrosse team continued its strong 2011 season Sunday, notching a 14-4 victory over Tri-Valley League rival Holliston, improving to 9-2 in the TVL and 14-2 overall. Medfield's 18-4 win over Westwood Tuesday keeps Warriors unbeaten in Tri-Valley League play.
The Medfield High School boys' lacrosse team (11-3) had no trouble with Tri-Valley League rival Westwood (9-5) Tuesday evening, as the league leading Warriors remained a perfect 9-0 in the TVL, winning 18-4. Cal Given and Davis Parsons led the Medfield attack with four goals apiece and Derek Etzkorn added a hat trick. The highly efficient Warrior offense put in 18 of 27 shots on goal – moving the ball quickly and seamlessly around the Westwood defense. “We do a lot of work on that,” said Medfield head coach Bob Aronson. “We had been a little sloppy at the beginning of the year, whether it was younger or inexperienced players, but they are coming into their own now and we spend a lot of time on it in practice so they are starting to click…
