Last week, the Medfield High School Girls Soccer Team was featured on WCVB's "High Five" segment for its recent win of the Division II State Soccer Championship. Canton's late goal ends Medfield’s season in the semifinal round of the MIAA Division 2 South Sectional State Tournament.
All it took was one. One goal separated the Medfield High School and Canton High School girls’ soccer teams in Friday’s MIAA Division 2 South Sectional semifinals. That goal belonged to Canton’s Kayla Laughlin, who netted the game-winner with unde two minutes to play in the second half as the third seeded Bulldogs knocked off second seeded Medfield, 1-0 to advance to the sectional finals. “There’s nothing you can say, that was a beautiful shot,” said Medfield head coach Michael La Francesca.
