Applicant hopes to have Chinese restaurant at site of former Fresh Catch.
There might be a new Chinese restaurant in town. On Monday night, the Planning Board determined that a Chinese take-out restaurant hoping to move into 24 North Street is not a substantial change of use from the Fresh Catch Seafood and Butcher Shop. Applicant JuQin Zhong told the board, through a translator, that she plans to be open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., seven days a week, all year long except Thanksgiving Day. She may also stay open until 11 p.m. on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve. She expects to start with four employees, including delivery drivers. A note on the door thanks customers for their patronage.
Medfield's first business casualty of 2013 is that of Fresh Catch Seafood and Butcher Shop which closed its 24 North Street location on Jan. 1. A sign on the door reads: Fresh Catch Customers We are sorry to let you know that, as of January 1, 2013, our Medfield location is closing. We have greatly appreciated your business, and hope that, if possible, you can visit one of our other locations in Mansfield, North Attleboro or North Easton. We wish you a healthy and very happy new year. Thank you again for your patronage. On Thursday, a glass company removed the large front window panels so machinery, etc., could be taken out of the store. I spoke to the owner on Saturday, and asked him about what it would be.
