Tonight: Public Safety Building Master Plan Presentation

The public is invited to the fire station tonight to hear plans for a new public safety facility and to engage the public in the process.

The Medfield Permanent Building Committee will be having a public presentation/design forum tonight (Monday, Feb. 4) at 6 p.m. at the fire station. The primary purpose of this public presentation/design forum is to engage residents about the future of the police/fire facilities. They will also discuss the broader master plan for the municipal district within which it currently resides including the Dale Street School and the Pfaff Center (Park and Recreation building).   The discussion will be lead by members of the Permanent Building Committee and the architectural firm HKT Architects.   There will be a public tour of the facility after the meeting.  **In case of inclement weather ‐ check the Town of Medfield website for cancellation …

Police Logs, Dec. 23-27

Highlights from daily police and fire logs.

Thursday, Dec. 23:  2:18 p.m. - Fedex driver came into the station to report he was bitten by a dog on Causeway Street. Driver spoke to Animal Control officer. 2:28 p.m. - Caller reported vehicle was all over road heading on Route 27. Officer stopped vehicle and driver received a summons on charges of operating after license or right to operate was suspended.  4:14 p.m. - Individual requested to speak with an officer concerning a family disturbance. 10:54 p.m. - 911 caller reported her daughter heard a loud thump in the basement and would like somebody to check the house. Medfield Fire Department Announces New Brush Burning Requirements

Residents will need written permission for open brush burning.

Medfield residents planning to conduct open brush burning will be required to obtain written permits starting Jan. 1, 2011, according to a statement released on the Medfield Fire Department's website. Burning permits will be available at the Fire Station beginning Jan. 2, 2011 the upcoming burning season. "Once issued, the permit will be good for the entire burning season. Residents will still be required to call the day they wish to burn to see if conditions are favorable for burning, if so, they will be asked to give their permit number and address," the statement said. Police Logs, Dec. 14-16

Highlights from daily police and fire logs.

Tuesday, Dec. 14:  10:58 a.m. – Caller reported 90-year-old woman may have been having a stroke at the senior center. The woman was taken by ambulance to Norwood Hospital. 11:23 a.m. – Man called from Milford Regional Hospital to find out where his car was towed Monday. 11:47 a.m. – 911 caller from CVS reported she misdialed. Officer verified and confirmed misdial. 12:35 p.m. – Resident at 4 Seneca reported he found a white and tan dog. 1:18 p.m. – Silent 911 call was received from Medfield High School. On call back school reported no problem that they were aware of.
