Vendors, shoppers and volunteers at last Thursday's market raved about the strawberries for sale, calling them "the best ever."
The first farmers' market of Medfield's second season of the weekly event on the grounds of the First Parish Unitarian Church was deemed a success by vendors, shoppers and volunteers who agreed the strawberries were the best ever. A minimum of five vendors and several civic and service organizations will be setting up for business at 2 p.m. on the grounds of the First Parish Unitarian Church, 26 North St. each Thursday. The anchors of the 2011 season were the organic family owned Langwater Farm of Easton, Langwaterfarm.com and Wards Berry Farm of Sharon/Foxboro wardsberryfarm.com. After a successful first year, organizers will be bringing back a Farmers' Market to Medfield, beginning on May 31 and running through Oct. 11.
A Farmers’ Market is returning to the Medfield center on Thursday, May 31 and will run every Thursday from 2 to 6:30 p.m. through Oct. 11 on the grounds of the First Parish Unitarian Universalist Church on North Street. Last June, Medfield debuted its first-ever Farmers' Market thanks in large part to the efforts of residents Fred Bunger, Bob Luttman and First Parish Church administrator Sandra Andreassi. “Members of the church thought it was an interesting thing to try,” said Bunger in a June 10, 2011 Medfield Patch article. “We have a great location, an interest in being local [by providing area-grown produce and supporting local vendors] and doing good things for the environment."
