Medfield High School Academic Year in Review: Technology

This part one of an 11-part series that takes an in-depth look at Medfield High School’s 2010-2011 academic year; goals for 2011-12 academic year; new curriculum offered in the fall; a pilot program; student life and the transition to a new principal.

One of Judy Noble’s final tasks as Medfield High School principal was to present the MHS end of year report to the school committee in June. She reported the 2010-2011 academic year was an overall success highlighted by several goals being met and events taking place. “We have had many exciting things happen and I’m sure there will be many more exciting things to happen as the years go on,” Noble said. “Once again, it’s been a good year at the high school.” Noble broke down the year into six themes: Facilities, equipment and technology; Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment; Student Life; Personal and Professional Development; School Management and Leadership; Communication and Community Outreach. Before fully taking over as the next principal of Medfield High School, Robert Parga presented Blake Middle School's end of the year report and improvement plan to the Medfield School Committee in June.  Parga focused on areas of technology, the student exchange program to China scheduled for October, changes in personnel and bell scheduling while providing a list of goals Blake students and faculty will set out to achieve next year. A 'Productive Year' for Medfield's Department of Pupil Services

Director of Pupil Services, Matthew LaCava, presented the department's end of the year report to the Medfield School Committee at its June 20 meeting.

Medfield’s Department of Pupil Services had a “positive and productive year,” according to director Matthew LaCava as the department revised the Pupil Services Manual, developed a continuum of services for students and provided professional development for teachers. LaCava presented the end of the year report for the Department of Pupil Services to the Medfield School Committee at its June 20th meeting. One of the department's main focuses this year, according to LaCava, was revising and updating the Pupil Services Manual. “The Pupil Services Staff Manual is related to all the pupil service staff, including nursing, guidance and special educators,” LaCava said. “In the past, it has been an informative binder of materials that you can use …
