Robbery - Case No. 130184 March 30, 2013 Swansea : Sovereign Bank Case Details: On March 30, 2013 at 1147 hrs. the Swansea branch of Sovereign Bank located at 620 GAR Hwy, Swansea was robbed. A male entered the bank, brandished a handgun and demanded cash. The male then fled the bank with an undetermined amount of cash. No one was hurt in this incident, although several bank customers were inside at the time. The suspect is described as 5’8 to 6’0 tall, medium build and was wearing a dark coat, dark hoodie, a dark knit type…

Medfield Girls' Basketball Over Oliver Ames in Walpole Tourney

The following ran in the Easton Patch on Feb. 21, 2013. The Oliver Ames girls' basketball team went into Wednesday night's Walpole Tournament championship game facing one final test before the Massachusetts State Tournament. They were certainly tested in more ways than one. A scrappy and relentless Medfield squad stood in the way of Oliver Ames heading into the state tournament unbeaten. The Warriors won the back-and-forth game, 61-55. The Tigers dropped to 18-1 overall. "It’s really too bad that somebody had to lose this game," Oliver Ames coach Elaine Clement-Holbrook said. Medfield Football Faces 'Great Challenge' in Opener

Medfield High School football opens its 2011 season against Easton's Oliver Ames at the MHS Turf at 7 p.m.

It’s Game Day for the Medfield High School football team as the Warriors open the season against Oliver Ames of Easton tonight on the MHS turf at 7 p.m. “OA is a strong, run-heavy team that will spread the field and work to get backs in open spaces out of the backfield,” said Medfield head coach Erik Ormberg. “They have a north-south runner, who is elusive, but not afraid of contact.” Ormberg, making his head-coaching debut tonight, said the key for a Medfield victory will be sustaining long drives offensively and getting strong play out of its special teams unit, which Ormberg has focused on early in practices. “What we need to do to win is get off the field on third down and control the clock offensively,” Ormberg said. “We hope our …

Medfield Resident Discovers Passion for TV Production

Nicole Jaques, a recent Stonehill College graduate and Medfield High School alum, is spending her summer working in production on “Dora the Explorer” and at MTV News after earning a prestigious summer internship with the International Radio and Television

When Nicole Jaques graduated from Medfield High School in 2007, she was like many incoming freshmen at Stonehill College – “completely unsure” of what she wanted to study or want in a career – until she stumbled upon a course entitled “Mediated Communications” taught by Stonehill College communication professor Angela Paradise. “On a whim I decided to take a class [with] professor Paradise, in her first year teaching at Stonehill College,” said Jaques. “During introductions on day one, professor Paradise informed our class of her passion for children’s television, which stemmed from her experience with a program called IRTS (International Radio and Television Society), which gave her an all-expense paid summer in New York City working for …
