Town Administrator Michael Sullivan was informed a NSTAR transformer is expected to move through Medfield between 2 and 3 a.m. Monday.
Andrew J. Lawyer, project manager of Edwards Moving & Rigging, Inc., informed Medfield Town Administrator Michael Sullivan, via e-mail, that a NSTAR transformer is expected to pass through Medfield early Monday morning enroute to Medway. The e-mail, which was published on Medfield Board of Selectmen chair Osler "Pete" Peterson's blog "Medfield 02052", says the company is "on schedule to move the NSTAR transformer through the town of Medfield very early Monday morning," between 2 and 3 a.m. Lawyer said in the e-mail he will contact Medfield Police before arriving in town. The ninth annual "Polo in the Country" event drew crowds of over 100 Sunday at the Norfolk Hunt Club to celebrate Farmers' Day and to raise money to preserve and protect recreational space.
The Ninth Annual “Polo in the Country” Farmers' Day was held at Medfield's Norfolk Hunt Club Sunday with all proceeds benefiting the preservation and protection of recreational space. Hundreds of people were there to enjoy the event, which fashioned after the original “Farmers Day,” which used to draw thousands of people in the early 1900’s from all walks of life. The history of “Farmers Day” states both men and women came dressed in their finest. In comparison, many that attended this polo event were dressed in themed costumes, in hopes of winning the tailgate contest.
