Selectmen Deny Taxi Application and Support Equestrian Use at State Hospital

Here is a glance at the highlights from the Board of Selectmen's meeting on Jan. 29, 2013.

  The Board of Selectmen met on Tuesday. Here is a glance at the topics discussed at that meeting. All selectmen -- Ann Thompson, Mark Fisher, and Osler Peterson attended the meeting. Appointments Met with Gil Rodgers and Roz Smythe, members of the Norfolk Hunt Club, to discuss the club's efforts to regain access to the former Medfield State Hospital site for equestrian use. Selectmen voted unanimously to endorse the project and send a letter in support after Peterson has had a chance to review it.  Met with Medfield Public Library Director Deborah Kelsey regarding the FY14 budget. Medfield State Hospital Status Update

The public was invited to hear an update on the project and to ask questions.

On Thursday, Nov. 8, representatives from the town's Medfield State Hospital Mediation Committee and the Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance (DCAMM) provided a status update to the town regarding their efforts and the progress to date of trying to reach agreement on an adequate and appropriate cleanup for the construction and demolition (C&D) area on the state-owned property.  Selectman Osler "Pete" Peterson attended that meeting. Medfield State Hospital Mediation Committee to Offer Status Update

The public is invited on Thursday at 7 p.m. to a status update meeting with representatives from the town's mediation committee and the state's DCAMM office.

  On Thursday, Nov. 8, representatives from the town's Medfield State Hospital Mediation Committee and the Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance (DCAMM) will provide an update to the town on the status of their efforts and the progress to date of trying to reach agreement on an adequate and appropriate cleanup for the construction and demolition (C&D) area on the state-owned property.  The meeting will start at 7 p.m. in Chenery Hall at the Town House with a question-and-answer session for the public.  The mediation committee was formed in April to address issues between the town and state regarding remediation of the property.  The town is concerned about DCAMM's plan for only partial remediation of the 3.2 acres of …
