Tough Start for Medfield's Big Blue

Medfield High School Boys' Varsity Basketball team played Norton on Friday and Hopkinton on Tuesday. This Friday, Dec. 21, is the home opener against Dover-Sherborn at 6:30 p.m.

The boy's varsity basketball team had a tough start to their season. Friday, Dec. 14 at Norton On Friday, they dropped a heartbreaking one point loss to Norton High School 49-48.   Remy Fragola led the team with 18 points, Drew Shea shipped in with 10.     Tuesday, Dec. 18 at Hopkinton On Tuesday, the Big Blue traveled to undefeated Hopkinton and lossed 69-49.   Remy Fragola lead the team once again with 18 points and Co-Captain John Zimmerman chipped in with 14 points.   Friday, Dec. 21 at Home This Friday is the home opener for the Big Blue …

Thanksgiving Football Preview: Medfield vs D-S

Here's what you need to know about this year's Turkey Day matchup.

  The Medfield Warriors will travel to the Dover-Sherborn Raiders in the teams' 47th annual Thanksgiving Day game.  WHEN: 10:00 a.m. Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 22 WHERE: Dover-Sherborn Regional High School, 9 Junction Street, Dover HOW MUCH: Tickets will be sold at the gate on game day for $10 general admission and $5 students/seniors. TEAM RECORDS: The Warriors are 3-7; the D-S Raiders are 1-9. HISTORY OF RIVALRY: Medfield currently leads its Thanksgiving Day series with D-S, 24-18-4 but D-S has won the last three meetings, including last year’s 14-8 victory over the Warriors in Medfield. PHOTOS: Jackie Flint Leads Medfield Softball to Victory over D-S

Freshman's effort on the mound and at the plate sparks 13-2 victory Wednesday.

Medfield softball coach Travis Taliaferro said freshman Jackie Flint had a "monter game" in the Warriors' 13-2 victory over rival Dover-Sherborn Wednesday. He wasn't exageratting. Flint went 4-for-4 with two RBI at the plate and picked up her first career victory on the mound, limiting D-S hitters to just two runs while striking out seven. "I was really proud of Jackie's performance because D-S put runners on in every inning, and played aggressively until the end," Taliaferro. Medfield was fueled by a six-run first inning, keyed by a bases-clearing triple by Lucy Allen enroute to a four RBI day and reaching base four times. Jessi O'Loughlin scored two runs.
