Cost of Medfield Transfer Station Stickers Increase

Board of Selectmen voted to increase costs of transfer station stickers from $40 to $50 for first vehicle and $25 from $20 for second.

The Medfield Board of Selectmen unanimously voted to increase the cost of Transfer Station stickers from $40 to $50 for the first vehicle and $25 from $20 for the second vehicle at its Feb. 15 meeting. The Solid Waste Study Committee requested the increase in sticker costs to the Board of Selectmen after voting in favor of the request at its Feb. 1 meeting, according to Highway Superintendent Kenneth Feeney. The increase is to help cover the cost of the police detail officer that is on site to check for stickers and the cost of waste removal. Selectmen Report Blizzard 2010 Cost Town $62K

Winter storm costs and safety discussed at Board of Selectmen Meeting.

Last week's snowstorm, which hit on Dec. 26 and 27, left a reported 13.5 inches of snow in Medfield, cost the town $62,000 to remove, said town officials. "It was quite a snowstorm and I thought the Highway Department did a great job," said Board of Selectmen Chairman Mark Fisher at Tuesday's meeting.  "It was quite an expensive blizzard because it was on Sunday and the guys were out a long time…It was a very, very expensive snowstorm."  And the town is preparing itself for another storm predicted to hit New England this weekend.
