New York, New York – Medfield Jazz Band will Return to Big Apple in May as Ellington Finalist
After recently competing in the Charles Mingus Music Festival in NYC, the Medfield High School jazz band was informed it would be heading back to New York in May to compete in the "Essentially Ellington" competition.

Two days after returning from the Mingus Festival in New York City, the Medfield High School jazz band learned it would be returning to New York once again – this time as a finalist in the “Essentially Ellington” festival and competition, May 4-6 at Lincoln Center. This will be the high school's third time earning a spot in the Essentially Ellington festival and competition that pays homage to jazz great Duke Ellington. The program participated in the New York competition in 2005 and most recently in 2008.
