The Medfield High School Boys Varsity Hockey Team has clinched the Tri-Valley League Championship title. The final score of Wednesday's game against Dover-Sherborn was 5-0, according to MassHSHockey.com. NORWOOD –The Medfield 12A Williamsport baseball team continued its historic run through the Little League tournament Saturday in dramatic fashion, walking off with an 8-7 victory over Norfolk to capture the team's first ever District 11 title and advance to the sectional round. Medfield found itself in unchartered territory Saturday, playing in its first-ever District 11 Finals against a Norfolk team that was also making its first ever appearance in the finals. Medfield made history on Friday, July 15 when it beat Hopkinton, 4-2 to advance to the District 11 championship game. Despite a complete team effort, this year's Tri-Valley League boys' indoor track title came down to something Medfield Warriors coach Tom Woods had discussed previous to the meet against Hopkinton on Jan. 26. “We wanted to beat them before the 4X400 relay,” Woods said. “We knew they had a strong relay team.” Medfield's Mike Creedon – who also won the two mile - won the mile for the Warriors, the last event before the relay, Joey Smith placed third, and Medfield won the meet, 44-42, securing the title and making the final event, the relay, irrelevant. “It was fitting,” Woods said. “It was appropriate for that meet.
