What Do You Really Want for Valentine's Day?

Valentine's Day is Thursday, Feb. 14.

  It's that time of year again: Valentine's Day. Some people look forward to it, some people dread it, some people aren't quite sure what to do about it, and that's where we come in. Patch is here to help you make the most out of February 14th. First, do you know what you're getting your significant other, if anything? Do you know what he or she wants? Do you have any idea, or are you guessing?  While flowers are usually appreciated, they are not always preferred. Some folks prefer jewelry, sweets (maybe a vase filled with her favorite candy), gift certificates, a nice bottle of wine, or just a quiet night in. But some people prefer a more practical gift like clothes (maybe something in red or pink), a helpful household item, or even a car…

Mark Your Calendar: Celebrate Lord's on Feb. 15

The celebration party will take place from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 15. The public is encouraged to drop into the open house for any and all of the event, and to participate in a ginger ale toast at 8 p.m.

  Details continue to be finalized for the Lord's Celebration set for Feb. 15.  The open house event will have a final "Midnight Madness" feel to it (but no merchandise will be for sale) and the hours will be from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Scheduled events (so far) for the party include: There will be a History of Lord's memorabilia display that depicts Lord's throughout the years. There will also be a place for people to make an audio recording of their favorite Lord's memory. Currently, there is a memory book at the front of Lord's Department Store where patrons can write down their memories of the store. People are invited to add to the book during the celebration or they can bring their memory with them (on a 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper) to …
