Countdown: Three Days Until Medfield Green Day

Medfield Green is offering residents a chance to do some spring-cleaning and be green by recycling unwanted and used materials. This year’s Medfield Green Day is scheduled for Saturday, May 5 from 9 a.m. to noon at the American Legion Hall.

Medfield’s biggest recycling day of the year is now four days away and Medfield Patch is helping you prepare for the annual event by highlighting different items you can donate. Today, we are focusing on bikes and pet supplies that can be donated and recycled at this year's Medfield Green Day, sponsored by The Medfield Employers and Merchants Organization (MEMO). Bikes: Bicycles of all sizes can be donated. The organization, Bikes Not Bombs, will refurbish them and pass them on to people in need. A $10 donation to make repairs is appreciated. Bikes Not Bombs Bike Drive to be Held May 5

The ninth annual Bikes not Bombs bike drive will be held during Medfield Green Day on Saturday, May 5 from 9 a.m. to noon at the American Legion Hall.

Medfield residents Kevin Lynch and Alex Opiela are organizing the ninth annual Bikes Not Bombs bike drive to be held in conjunction with Medfield Green Day.  Residents are encouraged to donate their unwanted to bikes to Bikes Not Bombs at the American Legion Hall on Saturday May 5 from 9 a.m. to noon. Last year, more than 175 bikes were collected, making the Medfield bike drive one of the most successful bike drives last year.   In the last 25 years, Bikes Not Bombs has saved more than 40,000 bikes from landfills and donated bikes to marginalized populations around the globe.
