Medfield Food Cupboard Provides Thanksgiving Dinner for 36 Families

The Medfield Food Cupboard held its annual Thanksgiving distribution this past week.

With the help of the Medfield Food Cupboard, 36 families will have a full table this Thanksgiving. The food cupboard depends on the generosity of individuals and groups in Medfield and neighboring communities in order to feed the families that depend on its service.    Local families were able to fill their bags with those items as well as donations of fresh potatoes, onions, carrots and garlic donated by the Wheelock School Victory Garden; homemade breads donated by the Medfield Neighborhood Brigade; five cases of water donated by the First Baptist Church; sugar pumpkins donated by Lovells Flowers and Nursery; and turkey donated by Armand P. Five Arrested on Heroin-Related Charges Norwood Police arrested five suspects on Friday for heroin-related charges, according to a press release published to the Norwood Police Facebook page. Friday morning Detective John Gover obtained a search warrant for the apartment of Costello, at 872 Washington Street. Shortly after noon, uniformed officers and detectives executed the warrant and found a small amount of heroin, syringes, used packaging and drug paraphernalia. Costello was charged with unlawful possession of heroin. MEMO's Medfield Day Set for 32nd Year of Fall Fun

MEMO's Discover Medfield Day will be held Saturday, Sept. 17 throughout the center of town, with the booth exhibits of local businesses set up around Meeting House Pond on North Street.

Discover Medfield Day began in 1980 to promote Medfield merchants, many of whom had joined together the previous year to form the Medfield Employers and Merchants Organization, MEMO.  Sept. 17 will mark the 32nd fall fair that promotes Medfield businesses, organizations, professionals, civic and service organizations, home industries and many more from the surrounding area. It is free admission and open to the public and will be held in the center of town with exhibit sites surrounding the Meeting House Pond on North Street. The day includes a Kids Alley, staffed by Medfield High School volunteers organized by the student council and adult volunteers from MEMO coordinated by the representative from Beginning Years Child Development Center…
