Angel Run Photos: More Than 1,000 Participate in Angel Run 2012

The 7th annual Angel Run was held on Sunday.

Editor's Note: Lots of participants equals lots of photos. Click through to see how many of your friends and neighbors you can find -- It might take a while this year. This year's Angel Run attracted 1,043 participants. One of those participants was Austin Scola who won the 5k with a time of 19:02 minutes. Scola, 16, has run the race for five years but this is the first time he won. "I wasn't expecting to win," said the Medfield High School sophomore. Both Scola and second place winner John Benner of Needham said they liked the many carolers who lined the 3.2 mile course.  Benner, 15, was just seconds behind Scola; this was his second year at the Angel Run.  The popular family-friendly fun event took off from the Wheelock School on Sunday…

Angel Run to Take Place on Dec. 2

The Medfield Foundation sponsored Angel Run will take place on Dec. 2 at 2pm at the Wheelock School.

The seventh annual Angel Run, Medfield's popular family-friendly fun event, will be held on Sunday, Dec. 2 at 2 p.m. at the Ralph Wheelock School.   The 3.2-mile fun run/walk includes a shorter one-mile loop for those who are interested. The run/walk features jingle bells for sneakers, racecourse decorations, festive attire and entertainment, and will be followed by a post-run celebration at the Wheelock School. The Medfield Foundation Angel Run is a fun-raiser designed to bring members of the extended Medfield community together in a spirit of joy and celebration. It is the unofficial start of the Christmas festivities in Medfield. Registration is $25 per person and you can register on race day at Wheelock.  All proceeds from the run …

Natasha Domeshek Kindness Scholarship Winners Announced

Eight Medfield High School students were recognized for their kindness in memory of Natasha Domeshek who would have been part of this year’s graduating class, and was the inspiration behind the Medfield’s annual Angel Run.

Two Medfield High School seniors – Chelsea Robertson and Joseph Shebertes – have each received a $20,000 scholarship from the Natasha Domeshek Kindness Scholarship in memory of their classmate who died suddenly in 2002 when the students were in third grade. The remaining six finalists – Sam Horan, Kimberly Knowles, Andrew Ludwig, Georgia Lundberg, Brian McCloud and Michelle Thomas -- each received a $2,000 scholarship in recognition of their kindness.  Natasha’s parents are David and Annie Domeshek of Medfield. “All eight finalists are fabulous kids, and narrowing down the field to two winners was a very difficult task indeed,” said David Domeshek. “In the end, we were impressed with what we heard about Chelsea's and Joe's long-standing …

Guidelines Released for $50,000 Medfield Scholarship

Nominations are now being accepted for the Natasha Domeshek Kindness Scholarship. Natasha died suddenly in 2002 at eight years old. She would have been a member of the MHS Class of 2012.

Nominations are now being accepted for the Natasha Domeshek Kindness Scholarship. The $50,000 scholarship will be awarded to one (or more) members of the Medfield High School Class of 2012 who shows exemplary kindness. “The sole criteria is kindness,” said David Domeshek, Natasha’s father. “It has nothing to do with athletic or artistic achievement, or financial need for that matter, it is purely about the character of the kid.” Natasha was a third grader at the Wheelock School when she died suddenly in 2002. Sixth Annual Angel Run Promises to be a 'Special Day' for Medfield Community

This is the last year family and friends of Natasha Domeshek, an eight-year-old Medfield third grader who died suddenly in 2002, will organize the event that has become part of Medfield's annual holiday celebration.

This Sunday will mark the sixth year of the Angel Run, an annual event created in memory of a Medfield third grader, Natasha Domeshek, who died suddenly in 2002. She was eight years old. This year's Angel Run will be held Sunday, Dec. 4 at 2 p.m. at the Ralph Wheelock School. The family-friendly 5k and 1k run/walk takes place in December because Natasha’s birthday was this month and her favorite holiday was Christmas. “Annie [Natasha’s mother] and I are thrilled that the Angel Run, in just five years, has become a Medfield holiday season tradition,” said David Domeshek, Natasha’s father. “I think the Angel Run is popular because it’s fun, it’s family friendly, and it’s part of a celebratory weekend in Medfield that’s full of community …
