Selectmen to Host State Officials at Tonight's Meeting

The Board of Selectmen will meet with Medfield state representatives regarding matters that affect the town.

  The Board of Selectmen will meet with state officials at its meeting tonight, April 16.  On the agenda at 7:20 p.m. is a meeting with Senator James Timilty, Rep. Denise Garlick, and Rep. Daniel Winslow to discuss "financial, Medfield State Hospital and other matters." Selectmen Meet Tonight Regarding Medical Marijuana Dispensaries, Gas Station Wine and Malt Beverage License, Sports Facility on Ice House Road

Selectmen will have a full agenda tonight.

Selectmen to Discuss Horseback Riding at State Hospital

A discussion with Gil Rodgers will start at 7 p.m. regarding the proposed expansion of use at the former Medfield State Hospital (now vacant) to include equestrians.

School Committee to Discuss School Choice Tonight

The Medfield School Committee will meet tonight at 7:30 p.m.

  On tonight's School Committee agenda is the topic of School Choice, a program where students from other school districts could opt to attend Medfield Public Schools, if such a policy were adopted by the school committee.  According to the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education,  The school choice program allows parents to send their children to schools in communities other than the city or town in which they reside. Tuition is paid by the sending district to the receiving district. Districts may elect not to enroll school choice students if no space is available. For more information, click here. Here is a look at what the selectmen discussed at their meeting on Dec. 18.

The Board of Selectmen met on Tuesday night and discussed the following: * Held a moment of silence in honor of the Dec. 14 tragedy in Newtown, Connecticut. * Learned the transfer station will be open extra hours next week including Dec. 26, Dec. 27, Dec. 28, and Dec. 29. * Voted to award the town's single stream recycling contract to E.L. Selectmen Agenda: FY13 Budget and State Hospital Update

The Medfield Board of Selectmen meet Tuesday at 7 p.m. on the second floor of Town Hall.

The Medfield Board of Selectmen will hold appointments with Town Treasurer Georgia Colivas and SHERC chairman John Thompson before addressing other town business at Tuesday's meeting. The meeting is expected to begin with a visit from Town Treasurer Georgia Colivas as she will request the selectmen vote to sign documents related to the Feb. 15 sale of bonds. Following that meeting with Colivas, selectmen will meet with Thompson to discuss SHERC's recommendations to the selectmen presented at the Feb. 7 selectmen meeting. SHERC is requesting the town seek legal counsel to better understand its options regarding its desire to completely remediate the C&D area of the former Medfield State Hospital. School Committee Agenda: FY13 Budget and Dale Street School Principal Search Updates

The Medfield School Committee meets Monday to discuss the latest happenings around the district.

The Medfield School Committee is expected to review the district's Special Education Coordinated Program and discuss the latest of the Fiscal Year 2013 school budget and the principal search at Dale Street School during Monday's meeting at Medfield High School. Medfield Superintendent of Schools, Bob Maguire will update the committee on the FY13 budget as well as the capital budget for FY13. Maguire has said at previous school committee meetings that he is "cautiously optimistic" of this year's budget process and believes the district can make improvements with minimal increase to the budget.
