Medfield Girl Scouts Celebrate Accomplishments, Anniversary

The Medfield Girl Scouts celebrated the organization's 95th year of existence and other achievements at its June 17th Bridging and Award ceremony.

In a special Bridging and Awards ceremony held on June 17th, Medfield Girl Scouts moved up to the next level of leadership, earned top honors for service and celebrated the organization’s 95th anniversary. Watched by proud family members and friends, Medfield’s Girl Scouts were also honored by appearances from Massachusetts State Representative, Denise Garlick, Medfield Selectmen Mark Fisher, Pete Peterson and Ann Thompson as well as Violet Apple, chief membership and program officer for the Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts. Celebrate 95 Years with Medfield Girl Scouts

The 95th anniversary celebration will follow the Bridging & Awards Ceremony, which begins at 6:30 p.m. and ends at approximately 8:15 p.m. on June 17.

As part of their annual Bridging and Awards Ceremony on Friday, June 17th, Medfield Girl Scouts will celebrate 95 years of scouting, which started back in June of 1916. The scouts and adult volunteers invite anyone who has been a Medfield Girl Scout in years past to join the celebration. There will be a special photo montage with images from 1916 all the way through present-day Girl Scouts. Richard DeSorgher of the Medfield Historical Society shared treasured photos from the early days of Medfield Girl Scouts. Guests at the celebration will also be served refreshments, including a huge cake, thoughtfully designed by the Medfield Girl Scouts.
