Weekend Agenda: Miss Amazing, Tree Lighting, Parade, Angel Run, and More

Get ready, Medfield, it's going to be a busy weekend. 

Friday, Dec. 6 -- Holiday Season Kickoff

Some area businesses open late tonight, some offering holiday specials in honor of annual tree lighting, so be sure to stroll down Main Street, Park Street and Frairy Street while you're out and about. 

4 p.m. to 8 p.m., Park Street Books. Photos with Santa, and 10% of sales will be donated to the Medfield Food Cupboard.  

6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., Baxter Park. Annual holiday tree-lighting. Sponsored by MEMO.

6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m., Dwight-Derby House Shoppe, 7 Frairy Street. Hand-crafted items by local artisans. 

7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., Free photos with Santa Claus, Dwight-Derby House, 7 Frairy Street.  

7:30 p.m., United Church of Christ, 496 Main Street. Carol Sing. All are welcome.

Saturday, Dec. 7

9 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 2 p.m., Zebra's Bistro. Gingerbread House classes. Every Saturday and Sunday through Dec. 22. Reservations suggested.

10 a.m. to noon, United Universalist Church, 26 North Street. Annual Garden Club’s Greens Sale featuring holiday flower arrangements, wreaths, boxwood trees and more that have been hand-crafted by Garden Club members. 

10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Dwight-Derby House Shoppe, 7 Frairy Street. Town Historian and local author Richard DeSorgher will sign his new book "This Old Towne, Remembering Medfield" from 10 a.m. to noon.  

1 p.m., Main Street. Holiday parade. Sponsored by MEMO. The parade will start at the high school/middle school and wind its way up Pleasant Street to Route 109 and down Park Street. Medfield Girl Scout troops of all ages will march in costume. The parade will feature the Medfield Fire Department along with the High School Marching Band.  

6 p.m., Miss Amazing Pageant, Blake Middle School. To celebrate the abilities of girls and women with disabilities for girls ages 5 to 35. Tickets are $10 at the door. Started by Medfield teen Andrea Nevins. 

Sunday, Dec. 8

9 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 2 p.m., Zebra's Bistro. Gingerbread House classes. Every Saturday and Sunday through Dec. 22. Reservations suggested.

2 p.m., Wheelock School. Angel Run, an annual 5k fun run/walk. Sponsored by The Medfield Foundation. Register at the door. 

2 p.m., 111 North Street. Medfield Historical Society's annual holiday party. Members-only party but join at the door for just $25 for 2014 ($40 for a family membership).
