Lady Warriors Take on Big Blue Basketball on Friday Night

Medfield High School is bracing itself for the “Showdown of the Century” when, on Friday (Nov. 22) night the Lady Warriors will take on the Big Blue basketball team in its first annual “Fight Night.”

“Last year, after the girls won the state championship, some of them were joking around saying they could beat the boys’ team,” said Big Blue Senior Captain, Matt Cahill. “So we thought it would be a fun idea just to scrimmage each other. Then, the captains talked about it and decided that it could be a great fundraiser for both teams if we played in front of the whole school.”

“I am really excited,” said Lauren Petit of the Lady Warriors. “I think it’s going to be a lot of fun for both teams. Playing the boys to start off the year will definitely give us some good competition going into our season.”
