Monday Essentials: Selectmen to Discuss Medfield State Hospital, Red Gate Farm; Starbucks to Open

Here are five interesting or important things happening this week.

1. Medfield Selectmen will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday to discuss the three warrant articles that are on the Oct. 7 Special Town Meeting: two relate to the cleanup of the Medfield State Hospital property, and a third is an option for the town to purchase 32 acres of the old Red Gate Farm property.

2. Are you a small business owner struggling with social media and how it could help you market the business? Mark Tuesday on the calendar. A free seminar "Social Media Marketing for the Technologically Challenged" is at the Medfield Public Library.

3. Starbucks in Medfield will open on Friday morning. The staff was at Discover Medfield Day, and doing plenty of pre-opening business at their booth.

4. Friday, Sept. 27 is the last day to register to vote to participate and vote in the Special Town Meeting on Oct. 7. You may register from 1 to 4 p.m. at Medfield Town Hall and from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Police station.

5. If you haven't already, stop by the pocket park next to Zebra's restaurant to see the Visions and Voices display, which will remain in place through Oct. 7.
