PHOTOS: Peak House Opens for Season with Display of N STARR Sword from War of 1812

Antique sword used during the War of 1812 aboard the U.S.S. Constitution displayed at Peak House this past Sunday.

On Sunday afternoon, Richard DeSorgher and other members of the Medfield Historical Society set up a display case on the front lawn of the Peak House.

An authentic N STARR sword which had been used during the War of 1812 aboard the U.S.S. Constitution (Old Ironsides) and a piece of the U.S.S. Constitution (removed during the 1974 restoration of the ship) were on display.

In addition, visitors could view books about the history of the U.S.S. Constitution and the War of 1812.  The curators of the Medfield Historical Society also gave tours of the Peak House and its grounds.
