Pet of the Week: Meet 'Tiger'

Tiger is currently available for adoption at the Medfield Animal Shelter.

A few people that have met Tiger, according to Kim Agricola of the Medfield Animal Shelter, think he is a Jack Russell/Chihuahua mix, and others think he has some Basenji in the mix.

"We have no way to know for sure what he is," Agricola said. "He is a little guy, probably under 10 pounds."

Tiger was rescued from a neglect situation, where he was kept chained up in an unheated shed, but is in surprisingly good condition in spite of such poor treatment, Agricola said.

"He is a lively and sweet little guy and wants to interact with us, but is still learning how to do that," Agricola said.

Tiger was neutered on Dec. 19 and is now in need of a loving home with experienced dog owners, a fenced yard and no young kids.

"If you have some time to devote to socializing Tiger and getting him comfortable living in a home, we would love to introduce you to Tiger," Agricola said. "He must have a fenced in yard since he is skittish, and he would love to have another playful and well-adjusted dog that he could play with."

Agricola said Tiger is a sweet dog and loves squeaky toys and is very playful. He is good with other dogs and she thinks he has tremendous potential for the right owner.

Tiger enjoys playing with Thumper, another fun dog at the shelter.
