Pet of the WeeK: Meet 'Maya' and 'Dilly'

Maya and Dilly are currently available for adoption at the Medfield Animal Shelter.

Maya and Dillon (Dilly) are seven-year-old Snowshoe Siamese sisters. They were adopted from Arizona as a surprise gift for a friend of the couple that relinquished them to the Medfield Shelter.

It turned out that after they arrived in Massachusetts, the friend did not want any pets. The couple, who loves cats, decided to keep them even though they already owned seven cats. Their cats, all males, had different ideas about this and made it clear they do not like the girls and tormented them to the point that Maya and Dilly spent their days on top of very tall furniture just to get some peace, according to Kim Agricola of the Medfield Animal Shelter.

"Rather than having them continue to suffer from torment, the couple asked us to find them a home where they can live peacefully together, since they are devoted companions," said Agricola. "They need a home with no other cats, but could go to a home with a nice dog. They are all vetted and microchipped."
